Not so long ago , to keep in touch with family and friends one would write a letter to find out how things were going but today with all the technology with computers and such it is so much easier to keep in touch with our loved one's just by jumping online . There are so many different chat and messengers that it is so much easier to find out how everyone is doing and with the convience of never having to leave your home . Do you still take the time to write a letter to someone from away ?

Hello, samtaylorskykierajen ,I do not write letters anymore,I prefer to use phone calls or instant messagers.I am too lazy to write any letters and i do not bother to go to the post office to mail it. Instant messengers are much more convinient as all i have to do is just type something and i can get instant response. But sometimes i may forget what i want to say in the instant messengers.

I have a first cousin I have always been close to and Yes I do still write to her but I can be honest the only reason I still write is because she doesn't have a computer. You are absolutely right modern technology has made it so we don't need anything except our puters. LOL

I don't remember the last time I wrote a letter. I like my computer, I like the money I save on postage and paper and ink, and I like the fact that my communication arrived where it is supposed to, to be read instantly.

I don't write letters as much as "drop cards" in the mail with little notes. I love to get an unexpected card in the mail, just knowing I was in the thoughts of a friend or loved one.

Yep! A girl I met online and I keep in touch through letter form. It's so much nicer to recieve something in the mail from someone, unless it's a bill! ;) I love to write, and I find writing letters improves a lot from your vocabulary to your writing skills, it's nice. Speaking of letters, I Have one I wrote almost three weeks ago that I never sent out! She's gonna be maddddd.

I often write letters to my Grandma, becuase i know how much she appreciates them. I really enjoy writing letters, i used to write them to my cousin all the time when i was a kid and kinda miss it. They add more of a personal touch than an e-mail or phonecall.

never in my life when i lost interest in writing letters and sending them through regular mails. i write letters friends and i am glad that they love writing back. my boyfriend and i live in different countries and despite the fact that we email each other and chat everyday, we still write letters. we love the idea of being personal and that's what we get in letter writing. we have gotten closer even if he's away from me. i hope people won't forget the passion for writing and sending handwritten mails.

I still enjoy writing letters. Mostly I will use phone or email if I just want a chat but I have pen friends in different places. I think a big part of the problem is lifestyles where you just don't have time to write letters. I now often email my pen friends but we still try to write. I have been writing to some pen friends since I was at school. Now we have our own families or other things so we just haven't got the chance so much any more but we still try to write a couple of times a year. It's nice to recieve letters as well.

yes. not all can afford to have computers at their homes and even if technology had already boomed a lot today, just like you said, we should still get in touch in our old ways of communicating to others.

yes i do often because it gives me sense of relatedness.generally writing letter is not in vogue, and it is because of prevalence of electronic gadgets for the purpose of communication. but what i consider all these mode of communications(e mail, fax, sms etc.) are informal in nature whereas written script ie. letter very formal and if you are writing letter to your dearest one it gives you very soothing effect and feeling of nearness.

Even everything changed to online,in case of letters they r replaced by e-mails for their quick dispatch. However, letters have their own significance...it reflects the art of writing, the sensitiveness etc etc..

Sometimes, but there is not really much to write about or talk about. Nothing big is happening at the moment to me.

I had never letters for the past 10 years I think. I agree with you that the internet and computers had made them easier and more convenient to keep in touch with our friends and family.

Very rarely... only when there is an occasion for it. Normally I send greeting cards once a year anyway so I will just pen some words there.

I still do, but not for someone who is far away. I write letters to my boyfriend whenever I can. He's the only one who I can be showy with my feelings. Thankfully, he likes them a lot. He even asks me to write more letters for him ^_^
