I usually o it as a compassionate gesture. but I do not encourage begging, especailly by people who are compeltely able-bodie and can fend for themselves.

I used to give some small money to the homeless people, but later I stopped because once I gave some to one, then I would be followed by some others on the street. But I remember when I was still a kid, my father used to give to them, who came to our door for money or for food, even now my father still does so to them.

No I don’t because I believe that giving them money is like pushing them to stay on the street more likely or for the rest of their life. They will think that as long as they earn a living on the street, they will stick to it. That’s not the best thing to do I think, if you’re not disabled then there’s something out there waiting for you. Well even disabled person can do something right so why not they try it themselves.
For homeless people, I’m sure they can work it out if they really would want to.

I have no problems giving money to persons who are in need but am not for giving money to beggers. I would rather see their capability and offer them to move to our factory where there are ample jobs for unskilled labour. I am not in for giving alms to physically fit persons.

I did one time. I gave a person a meal from McDonalds one time he was in the middle of the street with a sign saying hungery and need money. When I gave them the meal from Mcdonalds they took everythingn out of the BAG and threw it on the ground then threw the bag on the ground they didnt want the food they just wanted the money so they could get themselves some booze. I am not going to give money ever. I will give food if something like Mcdonalds is close.

I would like to give money to begger, but as you know now days things have changed .Not all of them are real begger, some of them are young and no physical defect they should be able to get a job-I mean any job instead of being bum on the street begging for money. If this is the case i would not give them money.
In contrast,if the begger has physicaly defect, such as disable ,sick,or to old to get a job of work i will definately give them money or foods.
Be able those people who really needs help is the most wonderful thing in my life.

I will definately give money to the beggar if they are old and sick or disable. But for those who are young and healthy i might not give them money but i have no problem to buy them food ,because i don't want to encourage them to be lazy and depends on somenody money for free to survive. They need to get a job,i mean any job which could help themself instead of begging on the street.

When the first time I went back to my hometown from college, I went to the train station alone.
I was sitting in the waiting hall to wait for my train. Then, a begger came by, who had only one arm. I could not help but feel sorry for him, so I took out some money and handed it to him politely. He bowed and said thanks.
Two minutes later, another begger came by, and I did the same thing.
Then, another one. Then, another.............
Finally, I gave all my changes out, and I had to go get a coke just tried to get some more changes.
Finally, my train came. And before that, 56 beggers came up to me.
That really surprised me. As a college student, I had to depend on my parents, because It was not as easy to find a part time job as nowadays. I felt sorry for those people, but there was a limit about what i could do for them.
The worse thing was, when i came back from the Spring Festival and went to school, I learned that there were more than one criminal orgnizations in this city. Sometimes, they adopted those children who were abandoned by their parents, or some stray kids. Then, they trained them to be professional theives. For those who can not be a theif, they either abandoned them again, or broke their arms or legs, so that they can be beggers on the street to earn money for them.
I was so sorry to hear that story.
But, life is cruel sometimes. I still give money to beggers. But, I became picky. I want to help those people in need, but at the same time i did not want to be used or be engaged in some criminal activities.
So, sometimes I would ignore those people who were in their middle age, strong and healthy, and gave some money to those disabled people or young children.
I am not Mother Terasa, but it is always my firm belief that we should help each other.
No matter what, it is love, not money makes this world go round.

We don't have homeless people on our streets because I live in a small town. I've only ever seen one homeless person and we gave him some money because I just felt so bad for him.

I used to give money to homeless people all of the time. I am very afraid to do those kinds of things anymore though because alot of people will harm you as they pretend to be homeless or beggars. I feel very sorry for the homeless people though but I cannot afford to keep handing money and things out to them all of the time.

where we live we don't really come across them much. I probably wouldn't, but mostly because my family is struggling as it is. I feel bad for people that are homeless and wish I could do something to help...but I want to keep my family in our home.

I normally do not give them money. i have heard stories that some are better off than you and me and sit around and beg for money. Plus I am always afraid if I do give them money, they will see my other money and knock me in the head.

I for one prefer giving out to these kind of people instead of naking donations in the nane of GOD ...But I try and give it to the needy only..if its really genuine..one person is physically challenged..or is not in a position to earn for hinself..I prefer giving to such people.
