a few months back i posted the question on can i potty train my little baby girl. i got some great advice. let me tell you what worked. A piece of paper!!!!! yes, i had application for my baby girl to go to daycare. she said momma what's that? (yes she calls me momma and i love it!) i said honey this is so you can go to big girl school. she said i want to go to big girl school. i told her, you can go to big girl school baby girl but you have to go pee pee in the potty. as soon as we walked into the house she went potty and as been going ever since. it has been two weeks now!! so i have my baby girl going potty and my big boy graduating HS. my family as come full circle

Congrats to you and your little one for this very important milestone. My little one is going through the potty training stage too. She doesn't need diapers during the day time and can make it to the bathroom by herself, but still needs diapers overnight. If i could ask you a question: How did you handle the overnight time for your little one. I was hoping someone might have a tip or trick that would help us complete potty training and get through the very expensive diaper stage once and for all. My goal is to have her be diaper free and get herself up to go at night. Is this realistic for such a little kid or am I putting too much pressure on her. She's not a baby, so she can get herself into the bathroom safely, but we have just this one issue to resolve. Thanks in advance for any advice.

i am not sure how long she has been going potty on her own, but i think you should just do it maybe like ever other nite. i know for me as a working mother, i am to tired to have to get up to wake her up to go. she is a hard sleeper. so i just let her go without a diaper on the weekends to bed. this way i don't mind waking her up to go. i make sure she doesn't have anything to drink at least two hours before bed. in the next couple of weeks, i am going to try ever other nite with a diaper on and off. see what happens. what i did was now just buy the cheapest diapers that i can find being that she only wears them at nite. good luck and i hope i helped

Yes! Thank you very much. That's just what I needed to hear. I had not thought about the water aspect. She often does have water or milk before bedtime. And, that water has got to go! I'll try out the suggestions for overnight potty training a little over time, and get her used to the new routine. She's pretty much like most kids; gradual changes work best. Best of luck with your little one. And, thanks again for the great tips.

good for you, i need to try that to my 3 years old little boy, he cannot go to potty, i tried just wearing him just little brief but he just pee in it so i end up cleaning a mess, my husband said just let him wear diaper until he learn how to potty but im 6 months pregnant again right now so im hoping i could train him before i give birth.

Congratulations, Sometimes they only need to be told why they need to go potty. Children understand a lot more than we give them credit for. Up until they see a reason to go potty they just ignore it. Children always want to please their parents, but a little encouragement goes a long way. Mother of 6 Kowgirl
