Digital cameras

I would suggest Canon for digital cameras (not digital video cameras). Sony is also good, however Sony uses proprietory hardware, so you will be stuck with buying only sony stuff for the camera and this can be expensive. As for canon it uses generic hardware like memory cards, lens attachments, tripod etc. As for picture quality Sony is good, but Canon is a more experienced company and they have a bigger selection. I own two canons myself and very happy. Ash
