I believe Internet Marketing is just dawning, because of on-coming economic developments, increasing energy prices, declining real estate values, loss of jobs to foreign countries, etc. How do you think this will affect online shopping? How much more change before we see a dramatic shift toward online discount shopping, shopping rebates and increased delivery by the commercial carriers? Do you see this as an opening opportunity for online stores? I do.

Well I think Internet marketing has already been there for a long time now. The only thing is that its volume is on the increase. As more and more people get accustomed to this, it will show more progress. One big issue is that of internet security. Lot of attention needs to be given to this aspect. There is lot of fraud on the internet. One needs to take proper steps to safeguard one from the same. As internet gets secure, there will be more internet shopping. One big advantage of online shopping is the savings and cheaper prices. This may drive more online sales.

While there is still concern about Internet security, statistics show ecommerce to be as secure as other credit card use. I got 'scammed' by a couple of eBayers but not by eBay. However, I believe most eBayers are credible. Overall, though, my experiences with Internet shopping have been pleasant because of savings and convenience.

Yes, the practical and most cost effective way to shop is online. Gas prices alone will drive online shopping upwards. Also, my time is valuable just as everyone else's time. I do think the change will be in small increments as gas prices rise. One purchase at a time will create a continuum towards dramatic increases in revenues for online shop owners.
