Need prayer for my sister

I would like to ask all of you MyLot friends to pray for my sister. She was hospitalized a couple of days ago in order to receive blood. Diabetes has ravaged her kidneys and they are only functioning at 8%. She still stubbornly refuses kidney dialysis because she is afraid. I'm especially sad because I just lost my other sister in September '06, and my mother in February '07. There will be no one left but my brother and I if anything happens to her. Please pray for her.

I will pray for her. I too have diabetes and know just how bad it can get. She really needs to think about going on dialysis. If her kidneys are only functioning at 8% she really can die. Doesn't she realize this? Have you tried talking to her about how it will affect you if she continues to refuse? What about a kidney transplant? Has anyone talked to her doctors about that?

Thank you, vokey (and everyone), for your prayers and good wishes. I have had a heart-to-heart with her and explained that now is the time to grasp at whatever straw she has. She has much to live for. I think she is getting the point.

I know many people who are on dialysis. Many people have done it for years. She should speak to someone who has had dialysis. Perhaps one of her physicians could arrange a meeting for her. My prayers are with your sister. Huggers to you.

Worldwise1, I'm praying for both you and your sister. One of my sisters and I also have diabetes, and I know that either one of us would have dialysis if it was needed. I hope that you can convince your sister to have dialysis. She should definitely talk to several people who have had or are having dialysis. My condolences to you in the loss of your other sister and your mother.

You have my warmest wishes. I hope your sister changes her mind about dialysis. It sounds like you have been through a really hard time lately. I hope things get better for you and your family soon.

oh Worldwise I can understand how you feel, this would be hard to deal with even without your 2 recent bereavements! Of course we will pray for your sister and for you. You need to stay strong and positive my friend , even although I know this is easier said than done! I wish you well and will keep up the prayers. Please let us know how your sister is doing. xxx

Of course worldwise you have my prayers, and I'm sorry to hear that you lost your older sister and mother....Perhaps all of our prayers should also be to direct your sister to accept the kidney dialysis...
