It's always easy to say what you don't like about getting older: aches and pains, wrinkles, gaining weight. But what have you discovered that you LIKE about yourself, now that there are a few more years behind you?
Physically I like my white hair. When I was younger it was just plain brown and flat, and now it has some natural body and is white and blondish.
Mentally I like that I feel peaceful most of the time, and very content. A few months after I hit 40 I had a major attitude shift, and suddenly everything, both mentally and spiritually, seemed to become centered for me, in spite of the fact that life went on as usual, with upheavals and troubles like everyone else has. I like this about myself, although sometimes people don't quite understand it!
So what do you like most about yourself as YOU get older?

I just looked and your homepage says you are 48. You're just a kid. When I was 48 I was working very hard then my health collapsed... Functionally I am disabled. What I like about myself is that I am not aging gracefully. By that I mean I have not given up. I keep trying and doing, no matter how hard it gets!
Getting old sure beats the alternatives!

Getting older is one thing, getting old and retired from work is another. What I like about getting old is the fact that one gets wiser, general speaking.
And the experience gained in life and work could be passed to others younger. However, getting old and retired could be stressful actually for many due to the "loss" of earning with the accompanied health problems very often encountered with old age.
Living a simple and healthy life is key to happiness during retirement.

What I really like is the feeling of being comfortable with who I am and not having to pretend I'm someone different so that people will like me. I have now reached the stage where I like me and if others don't it doesn't matter. It makes life so much easier than when you're younger and trying to be all things to all people.

I've had terrible financial mishaps before. Now that I have gotten older, I like the fact that I have become financially wiser in terms of savings, investments, and cost-cutting. I also have gotten a positive attitude such that I don't let things affect me that much. I'd like to believe that I am aging gracefully. It is inevitable but I do like the crow's feet around my eyes.
