I have a kidney stone less than 5mm in size.
I have been advised to drink a lot of water.
My doctor says no other treatment is required.
I also have high cholesterol. For this too
I have just been asked to diet (no oily and
fried foods) and no further medication.
Would like to know of others with similar
complications and what treatment methods used.

If young people pass a lot of kidney stones they need to have their thyroid and para-thyroid checked. Don't let this condition go on, it can be very dangerous.

I too have a kidney stone. When last measured in April it was 14 mm. In fact I almost lost the right kidney when it shut down from the blockage and I ended up taking an ambulance to the hospital twice in five days. They gave me sulfa antibiotics to clear the infection in the kidney, stuck a stint into the kidney (God that hurt! and I peed blood for two weeks from it), which they removed one month following and since I have been self medicating when the kidney infection flares up from blockage. Although it seems there is no getting rid of it. As soon as I can afford it I will get medical insurance and then have it broken up with that sonic wave therepy, but still there are no guarantees of the size of the pieces they break it down into and then I am still left to pass the stone. They also prescribe percoset for the pain, though if you have a stone you know good and well that not even that works to stillthe pain.
