Train your cat to use the toilet.

Can you imagine never having to clean a litter box again? I have currently started to train my cat to use the toilet. I am now at the stage where the litter box is level with the toilet. I found a great web page that told me how to do this. It is http://www.karawynn.net/mishacat/toilet.html. I suggest anyone who would like to do this, to visit this web page because the owner of Misha gives you great instruction on how to do it. She trained her cat in no time at all. Regretfully Misha is no longer with us, but this is part of her legacy. I will keep you updated on my progress. I am not sure if it will work with my Gizmo, because he is 7 years old now, but it is worth a try. I guess it works better if they are a kitten. Best of luck to all those that give this a try and keep me updated too!

I have seen many video's on youtube with cats using the litter box. How wonderful that would be, not only save on the cost of litter. I could save on paying my grandson to pooper scoop it everyday lol. I bet the cats would be neater than the grandkids. I hope your cat your cat does well at potty training!

Thank you for your supportive comments. I will keep you posted on what happens. Yes, I think it will be a lot cleaner too then litter.

Sounds like a good idea, but i don't think it'd work for us a) becuase i always keep the toilet lid (not just the seat, the lid too) down, to stop particles from the loo infecting the air etc, and to stop me dropping stuff down it, plus b) our cat doesn't evne like going past the bathroom, let alone inside it to where the loo is! Oh well, ther mister will have to keep on cleaning her litter tray out.

It might not work for everyone. If your cat does not like the bathroom at all then it will definitly not work for you. However, I wish you and your cat well and thank you for your responce.

My cat seems to like a drink out of the loo. Cant understand why theres always fresh drinking water available for him. Tell tell signs of muddy paw prints round the seat. Bit concerned when I have to bleach the pan.

My cat use to do that too. I am not sure either, why they do it. He does not do it anymore, but he loves to watch the water go down when you flush it. I would suggest putting the lid down when you are bleaching it, so that your cat does not get sick, and for the first 3 fulshes after that.
