The Cubs are not going to turn around.
Especially with the way Carlos Zambrano has been pitching, there is no way the Cubs can recover and make the playoffs. Alfonso Soriano, the 160 million dollar man, can only do so much, and he's not even doing that much either. Their pitching needs to be improved, even with emerging pitchers such as Rich Hill. Not only that, but as seen by Zambrano and Barrett's fight today, the morale in the clubhouse is low. This team needs to be rebuilt from ground up.

you couldn't have said it better. they should have taken that 160 million for soriano and got 4 or 5 decent players.

Soriano signed for 137 million, not 160 million. The past few days he has been tearing it up. 3 homeruns in 3 at bats against Braves yesterday. 5 for 5 against Brewers a few days ago. He will earn his money.
And, they are dong quite well after "the fight". Carlos actually pitched and hit quite well his last outing.
Now if someone can teach Michael how to properly run the bases!!!!

They have had money and they have used it quite well for their starting pitchers. They are up for sale now, and I suppose they can't spend as freely as they would like to anymore. Someday, maybe, they will get the right team together and finish out a year on top.

I am getting so disgusted with our relief pitchers. When our offense puts up 6 or 7 runs in an inning to take the lead, they just cannot seem to hold it!! I surely do hope they can turn it around. Milwaukee has lost 6 in a row, Houston 9 or 10 in a row. WE only won once or twice during that stretch. Wasted, wasted opportunity!! Dempster has been very good, but Howry, Eyre and Ohman have not. We need these guys and they just need to start pitching better. Sweet Lou is gonna turn sour pretty soon.
I always will root and watch my Cubbies, but sometimes it just hurts way too much!!!
