Women: Do you chop off your hair after getting dumped?

i have to tendency to pour out my frustrations to my hair. i've gone from the pixie haircut to really long. i've had it permed and straightened. i've colored it blue, brown and red. sometimes, i do this just for the heck of it.

No you are not alone in it!! Lots of ppl I know do that. Mostly cos it feels cathartic. There's a mandarin song that has the lyrics about how cutting off hair simultaneously cuts off their feelings or thoughts of the person. I guess the practical bit is just that you want a new look. And something to shake off the old you. Some people get an entire make-over to show their ex what they are missing. quite a few people I know whose boyfriends left them for another girl, went through such a transformation and went from homely dowdiness to super glam modern gorgeousness.

Well, I don't cut my hair or anything when something like that happens to me. If I get really ticked off at someone for something I will go and get my ears pierced, silly I know but it works for me. I've learned to stop though because I'm running out of room.

Well, you're not the only one. A lot of girls actually do this kind of thing. I'm not one of them...but whenever I get a haircut, people would say.."oh, dear...did your guy leave you?" Whhaaat? Can't I have a haircut for no reason at all? lol.

I did it onc...turns out I look horrible in short hair :)
