i'm just missing my hubby tonight (he's at work), and was thinking about our first date.
i want to know what everyone's favorite first date consisted of. maybe it was with your wife/hubby, maybe not, that's not the point. i just want to know, out of all your first dates, which was the best, and why?
did you take a nice stroll on a beautiful autumn's evening? did you sit in a boat and look up at the stars? did you go to a romantic restaurant?
lee me know!! love romance!

I came over to his apartment, and we watched the flyers lose on Hockey and we snuggled on his couch. It was a terrible couch and had a playboy blanket draped over it. I'll never forget that. lol. It went good though and I didn't want to leave, I was already attached to him :)

HA! he was such a bachelor with his playboy blanket eh?! that's funny! i love how you remeber those details though, about the couch and such, and how nothing like that drove you away, you liked him no matter what. you were attached to him already, i think that's so cute! and i love hockey, it's good to sit and watch that together, (unless he gets real pissy if his team is losing, oohwee, lol)!!

My best first date was with my husband. We met unexpectedly when my car broke down and he came after work to a friends house to see if he could fix it. But truth be told, he was just coming to check me out and we ended up going out a few days later.
On the date we doubled with my friend and her husband, David worked with her husband, that's how he knew about me. Well anyway, we went to this Mexican restaurant called Mi Casitas, and then we went to the Oktoberfest at Fort Bragg, NC...we had a blast and learned a little about each other since we couldn't be rude and not socialize with the other couple. The best part of the night for me was when we went on the Tea Cup like ride and since it was whipping us around I was squeezed next to him. He was nervous because he had no where to put him arm but around me and was worried I would be upset. I was wanting him to. After we left the fair, we went back to our friends house and watched Blue Collar Comedy Tour and didn't end up leaving until 3 am. He walked me to the car and we didn't end up kissing but I was glad he wasn't trying to be pushy. We have been together ever since.

oh! that's such a cute story! what a fun date. and sometimes it's good to go with another couple, just to sorta avoid the awkward moments! i love the FUN first dates, like going to an amusement park, or Oktoberfest...good times!

My first date with my now husband went something like this: He picked me up at my apartment and we went to the bar below to have a drink. Then we went to see the 40 Year Old Virgin. He talked through the movie which I found cutely annoying. Then we went back to his place and talked for a while. We went to another bar and then he took me home where we had our first kiss and then he left. He was a real gentleman that night.

i love the first dates that seem to last all night. like you don't want the other person to go home, you think 'what else can we do to make this evening last?' and it's so refreshing when they are gentlemen on the first date isn't it? some guys aren't. you knew he was a keeper! fun date!! thanks for sharing!

I miss my hubby too he is at work and i am too. we never really dated, I mean we went from being friends to good friends and then it just became a romantic relationship, but the best was when he bought me a rose one day when we were at an outdoor market and asked me to be his girlfriend. i was sooo excited and happy..now we are married over a year!

my first date with my boyfriend was really weird...it wasn't really planned and our classes were just going to finish early. he texted me and asked me if i wanted to watch a movie with his group. i asked first my group if they wanted to come. then my group just happened to finish something in school so they told me they'd follow. so when my boyfriend-now came to pick me up without his friends, he said his friends were also going to follow. the day ended without our friends..and it really turned out that it was a "date". it was so weird since it was the first time we went out, there were a lot of silent moments and shy moments...but it was still really nice...it's nice to remember it once in a while... :)

a lot of first dates consist of that silent, and shy type of moments. but it's what you're feeling inside during those moments that you will always remember. the jitters, the butterflies in the stomach! all wonderful first kind of feelings! thanks for sharing. what a nice story!!

Well Sweetie mine was 3 years ago when my Friend and I discovered the feeling we had
We had been Friends for 3 years in that time he was a big Rock to me (still is now) I was diagnosed with my Illness just before I met him then I went through Separation and Divorce but before I got separated we lost touch for 6 months then he phoned me out the blue lol and of course he then found out that I was separated 4 months after that I went to see him that was the first time we had seen one another in 2 1/2 years and it just happened, we then went for a meal and spent the afternoon together
I actually met him when I went to work in London for the Company I worked for
I was working with and for him.
He has been there when my Divorce came through, when I got bullied out of my Job because of my Illness when I got sicker and he is still here now for me
We don't live together but I live a lot closer to him now

My very first date came when I was in the Air Force and stationed at my first base. There was this guy who was a sweetheart and we used to sit around and just talk and then one day he asked if I wanted to go out. I said yes but he said before I answered he had to let me know he didn't have a car that we would need to take the bus to where ever we went. I was fine with that. So when the evening came he came to the barracks to pick me up. We walked to the bus stop talking the whole time. We got on the bus and we went to the most pleasant restaurant a women could want to go to. We ordered our meal and our hands moved across the table at the same time and we held hands and talked about all kinds of things. When the meal was over we left the restaurant and walked down to the ocean side since the restaurant was by the ocean. I pulled my shoes off and we walked alongside the ocean. He moved over and put his arm across my shoulders pulling me close to him. We walked that way for awhile looking up at the moon and just enjoying the comfortable silence that had fallen over us. He stopped all of a sudden and pulled me to him. He kissed me but it was just a very sweet kiss. Very tender and slow. Than he told me he would like to continue to see me. I said yes and we walked slowly back to the restaurant. We were holding hands and had big smiles on our faces. When we got back to the restaurant we went around the outside and walked back to the bus stop. The bus came and we got on and rode back to the base. I don't think you could have gotten a stick between us we were sitting that close. When we got off the bus he walked me back to the barracks and gave me another very tender kiss. From that time on we were together for a long time. That was a long time ago but every now and then he pops up in my mind and think about that special time of my life.

First date: I was asked out for lunch and was too chicken to go on my own so asked my best friend to come along with me. They both hit it off (as if they were old school friends lOL) while I sat there, shy as ever, eating and just listening and admiring him LOL
The best date ever was when my hubby (boyfriend at the time) proposed to me after i had taken him to afternoon brunch for his birthday, then we went for a nice stroll at a Botanical Gardens (beautiful) then we sat down to admire the view and he popped the question. It was beautiful!

heehee! isn't it funny how we feel when we really like someone, and when it's the first time doing something with them, it's SO much easier to bring a friend? hopefully you were able to go out with him again...not your friend going out with him, WITHOUT you??!! i love the feeling you get in your gut when you really like someone and you get all nervous! fun times!!
and thanks for sharing your other story. sounds wonderful!! love proposal stories too!!

wow... thinking about my first date with my current boyfriend.... really made me smile. haha.
he was my friend for 5 years before we dated. we've been dating for more than 2 years now, and he's still the best man i've ever known.
he was a soccer player during college, and their training was every sunday. we were still friends during that time but we were starting to get serious with each other. one sunday i decided to give him a surprise. i wrapped some bread on a bright purple wrapper, tied it with a bright pink ribbon, put a note on it and left it at the top of his manly sports car (imagine his surprise seeing the wrapper and the ribbon on his "manly" car. lol.) until now he said his car became a gay because of me. lol...
anyway, after his training he picked me up, we ate dinner and spent the whole night reminiscing our friendship, laughing at the stupidest things and cuddling each other under the moon and the stars. that night he also said the magic words =)

it's so easy to feel nervous. i tend to stumble over my words, then i feel so silly. but when the person you like likes you back just as much, it's something you two can laugh at later! first times for anything can make anyone nervous! thanks for sharing!!

Hey, thanks for reminding me the sweet and wonderful moments...
For me, i think that first date are always the sweetest...
I mean, when i recap, all i can think of is the good moments....
Afterall, its still the honeymoon period...
=)
My first date with my boyfriend...
I can remember clearly...
He asked me out for a bus ride and told me if im free to join him, he told me he loves sitting on the bus when its raining...
So he took a bus to my place...
At tt time we were just friends...
My computer broke down and i needed to use, thus we head over to his house...
From then on, we became closer...
I mean, everything is really sweet and nice at that moment and i wish time never ends there...
Of coz, we are still together now, but i hope the sweet time remains...
