1. Walking Drum - it is about a young man who went to sail to the sea to look for his father, he abandoned his old home because it is already destroyed by a family enemy, throughout his journey he made friends and enemies equally powerful so his life is torn between luxury and danger. i like the journey with him, his thirst for knowledge and adventure are almost equal you would want to be like him... and the sense of humor!!! i love a man who can find humor in difficult situation...
the setting is 12th century, dark ages, and our hero is celt, knows a little about being a druid.
2. The Ripening Sun - it is about a woman who found herself living in a french village without a husband and without anyone she can talk to. what i like about the book is about the woman's series of triumphs beginning with having friends, living on her own, growing the vineyard and finding a home in the french village.
3. The Wheel Of Time - It's a series about 3 young heroes who are friends, the main character is Rand, he's the destined hero in flesh, he became very powerful through personal discoveries and teachings from the very enemies he is to face in the end. The other two characters are Mat and Perrin. Mat is the mischief maker among the three but while Rand was becoming powerful, Mat was able to hold on his own through luck and memories of other men he used to plan for battles. Perrin is the third, he can talk to wolves and he is very powerful physically, he was made a leader even though he avoids it.
4. Bridget Jones - funny, funny and funny. i can always relate to bridget's dilemma and funnys ituations. and even the reactions. she writes what most of us will write.
5. Sense and Sensibility - they are about sisters, one uses sense, one uses passion... i love the one who uses sense
6. David Copperfield - a little boy who had a difficult childhood but somehow along the way met friends and grew up to be a fine young man
what i love about this book is their love story, agnes and david... i love the way they finally came together
7. Angels and Demons - thanks to da vinci code's fame, i was able to know about this book, oh yes, i enjoyed reading this one over dvc. what i really liked is about the scupltures and different artwork and places that i researched while reading so i can picture the scene clearly.
I did not include the Harry Potter series and the Lord of the Rings series, i mean almost everybody has heard about those.

david copperfield is by charles dickens, it is a classic novel, you might want to line it up with the likes of tom sawyer and huck finn, or a little princess by burnett...
well you are right i thought when i saw it the first time it is about magic, associating it with the famous illusionist/magician of our time....

1. Dangerous Angels - by Francesca Lia Block - it's a modern day kind of fairy tale dealing with modern issues. It's the combination of all the Weetzie Bat Books.
2. The Zen of Oz - by Joey Green - it compares Zen philosophy to the classic story - The Wizard of Oz.
3. The Anita Blake books by Laurell K. Hamilton - Anita is a vampire executioner and necromancer and she is dating the Master Vamp of the City as well as the Ulfric of the Werewolf Community.
4. The Time Traveler's Wife - By Audrey Neffeger - It's such a beautiful lovestory that trancends time.

It's hard for me to do this question justice since I have too many favorites!
I read books regularly and I am always with a book. At good times, I can even read one book a day. I have too many favorites to list them here. :P
