Well, in a way I am. I grew up in an abusive home and I swore that I would never marry a man that would hit me and my husband would never hit me. Also, I always said that I wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. Well, I currently home school my children so I am a teacher just not as I had planned exactly.
I remember my brother always said that he wanted to drive a semi and yet he never tried to do anything to make that dream come true. He currently doesn't even have his license as they are suspended.
It is odd as to how people think that their life will be one way and yet it isn't anywhere like that.

Hi, carolscash.
Yeah, it's really odd as to how people think that their life will be one way and yet it doesn't like what they planned or imagined.
I think that some of people just never strive for it.
. However, others have been going for it all the time. I prefer the latter. Whether his/her dream comes true or not, after all, they once tried their best to go for it. That's enough. The process of striving for it is more important than the final results. It's just my own opinion.:)
Wish you happy every day! ^_^

Who I am today is nothing like I thought I would be when I was younger . I did not fulfill any of my dreams and find that I am still much the same person I was when I was younger and don't feel I accomplished anything that I had wanted to other then the fact that I always wanted to be a good mother , one who would take the time to listen to her children when they needed to talk and to try and always remember what it was like to be a child and in this regard I believe that I did accomplish what I had wanted to but that would be my only accomplishment .

That is sucha good accomplishment though. Being a 'good' mother is hard sometimes. I mean I am a mother naturally but I struggle with it so much sometimes. Good for you.

Yes and No. I wanted to be a movie stuntman. Instead of that I was an Army paratrooper, did some Search & Rescue, Disaster Recovery, and spent a summer fighting wild land fires.
I also wanted to be a musician, but never had the drive to practice any of the instruments I started. Now I play and teach guitar.

I was the same at 25. I remember looking at the uniforms of the "old timers" doubting I'll ever get to earn that many awards.
Then 15 years later, I got flashbacks to that when I overheard some of the younger troops wondering if their uniforms will ever look like mine. ;~D
I guess that is how life goes. ;~D

You have done so much! I envy you. I have yet to do much with my life. I am fence sitting. I am working up the nerve and courage to go over and see what is out there. You should be very proud of all you've done. Those are really good accomplishments. In my eyes it is not what you wanted but you ended up with better. I hope for the same.

no,I wanted to be a singer or a super star when I was very young.but as I growed up,I just go to school everyday, study and study.my dream is covered in my heart.the work I most hated is teacher when I am a child, but now,I just want to be a teacher in university.the reason I do not want to be a teacher before is that I think as a teacher would be very bordom and tired.but now,I think as a teacher will have more free time, and the salary is right.theresore,my dream will not come true.
