Cats attacking Dogs?????

Hello everyone..The weirdest thing happens with my oldest cat now..His name is Dude,and hes 16 years old,hes orange and white and a big puff ball..my friend and neighbor got a dog,and shes such a sweet dog,she doesnt chase them much at all..and just try to be friends..he isnt a violant cat either he doesnt fight with any other animal.hes even friends with Racoons! But when he sees her he growls,hisses,SNORTS!! YES SNORTS! and yesterday he attacked her! Like hitting her and everything!thanbk god hes declawed and his vampire teeth fell out..what is the deal? DOES ANYONE ELSE HAD THIS HAPPEN? is this just weird? or natural? plz let me know asap! Thank you all ahead of time!

Yes my poor dog!!!!! Dude hates her!! I dont even know why. She has never been mean to him. And like cloud_kicker said the other day he took off after her, snorting, hissing, and then he pined her down and smacked her a few times. I had to break them Up!!! Oh man. I dont know why he does this. Star is way bigger than him! And she runs like a wuss!!!! LOL Its funny to see but I fell bad for star. Wish I knew what was up his but!!!!

Our cat Fluffer McKitty (now deceased) always chased away the stray dogs. She was a tiny little thing but all the dogs, even the huge ones, were scared of her LOL.

I think it's normal for this to happen! I have 2 cats and 2 dogs. One of my dogs is smaller than my 2 cats and sometimes they will both just gang up on him and give him a good swipe across the nose for no reason. He's now scared of the cats! Strange but true! lol ;)

My cat always attacks my dogs. He is friendsly with one of my dogs andthey dont fight. But if i and stoking my cat and my dog comes over my cat willa ttack my dog and send him away very scared :P. Which is weird cos this dog is a very unfriendly dog :P

I have both dogs and cats and while most of them don't bother with the dogs, there are a few who don't care that the dog is 10 times bigger than them. This is how it starts...two cats will get into a tiff, the dogs will show an interest. Next thing I know, my older cat is hissing and swatting at the dogs. And the dogs didn't even do anything to that cat. I also have another cat who thinks he is king. He will swat at the dogs just for sniffing him. So you are not alone, my dogs have had their share of scratched noses.

I've seen it happen.
I actually find it quite funny to be honest but I do feel bad for the dog. Although I am not one of those who says a dog shouldn't be scared of a cat because that's like saying I should be scared of heights.
