Why does America have so much crime?

This is my opinion… and I would like your thoughts on it…
Capitalism strives under the banner of freedom. The freedom to be able to do whatever you like. However… like with everything else… there is a negative side to it…
Successful capitalists don’t want to know about poor people… because in their eyes… everyone has the same opportunity and there is no excuse to be poor. As a result… America does not provide adequate medical cover to its poor people or adequate social welfare to help its poor population.
The human animal instinct is to survive at all cost… no matter what… Desperation for survival leads to crime as a last resort. Poor people hate rich people because they feel that the rich people are responsible for putting them in that situation. A strong economy only serves to make the rich richer… while the poor get poorer. This is what we call “the great divide”.
Yet again… it is the rich which promote the right for everyone to have a gun. They feel that they need a gun to protect themselves from the poor desperate people… while not realizing that in doing so… they are allowing poor people to purchase a gun for the sole purpose to commit crimes against rich people. Rich people are either totally blind or they think that a gun will turn them into John Wayne and make them invincible.
My opinion in all this… is that… adequate social welfare… not only help poor people survive… but it greatly reduces the need for people to turn to crime. In doing so… it reduces the crime rate. America needs to stop thinking like they were still living in the Wild West where you did solve your problems with a gun. It needs to show some compassion for its poor population.

Social welfare and more of it? May I raise YOUR taxes to help pay for it? The rich have very little to do with the poor being poor. Most poor are that way because they choose to be victims instead of finding ways to overcome being poor. In fact, the a great percentage of rich people in this country were poor at one time. The thing that separates the poor from the rich is that the rich, in many cases, had dreams and ideas and found ways to make them come true.
The poor want to blame the rich for making them poor and that is nothing but a big fat excuse and it is in no way true. Many rich people do a lot to help the poor. Being a victim is easy because it resolves you of becoming self-responsible for your place in life. Does the government and the rich owe anything to the poor just because they are poor? No way. The government will always try to aid the poor so that they can get votes.
The best way for the poor to rise above poverty is to do it themselves with the help of others and not by getting free handouts. Socialisnm has never sloved any problems and has never created any wealth or self sufficiency. The whole universe is an abundant place and there is plenty of everything for all. The poor have yet to realize that fact and the rich have known it and done something to make it a part of their lives.
I believe in helping the poverty stricken through free enterprise and by creating wealth. With wealth creation, many other parts of the economy are affected. Do you think rich people stuff their millions in mattresses? No, the majority of their riches get put into the economy in one form or another. That increase opportunity for all. If I have money, I am now empowered to help those in need. If I remain poor, I cannot help too much.
There will always be crime of some sort because people will resort to it for various reasons. With increases in population, you have to expect more crimes simply because there are more people available to commit them. Committing a crime is a personal choice. The person committing the crime takes full responsibility for their actions. It is not a poor-rich thing at all. Only a choice.
And if you watch the news here, you would think that we are living in the wild west days. That is because the media is attunded to anything negative, especially murder. By far, there is a billion times more good created in this country than bad. You only hear of the bad things and the media will hardly ever tell you of all the good. If you like social welfare, move to a country that provides it. If you want freedom and prosperity, you can make that choice too.

I was not talking about socialism. I was searching for the reason why America has the highest rate of crime and murder in the world.
As for raising taxes... the cost of the Iraq war would make every poor citizen in America a millionnaire. America has plenty of money. It is just wasting it instead of putting it to good use. Just look at how much money is wasted on every election campaign... It is a disgrace.
How is the poor black population of New Orleans supposed to do it for themselve? Before doing it for yourself... you need a government putting the infrastructure in place. That's what governments are for.
The government gives you the facilities to educate you and provide you with a job. And then you repay the government in taxes for its effort. That's how the system work all over the world.

The standard of leaving in America is so high that a person has to struggle a lot to even get a square meal. This is the major cause for the crime rate being risen to skies. Once a person gets into the crime arena he thinks of amassing wealth which even the white-collars do. In other countries the situation is similar but altogether the same. There still exists ethics and honesty in dealings.

We have so much crime because we do not have the kind of freedom that we want, that and we are over-populated.
