Are we all internet addicts? Maybe am growing to be a loner...actually I HAVE become a loner. I spend about 8 long hours or more a day on the net. And I cant remember a day when I spent even a few quality hours with my family or friends. I see there the usage of internet is growing, people are just endlessly clicking on sites. More and more people prefer surfing the net rather ( and they are going about for a LONG time) than having a good family time.
ARe we all addicts??

Why think about internet in negative terms. I give some time for sports everyday. Although I spend a lot of time on internet during vacation I cannot do the same when my semester starts. So I wouldn't call it an addiction. Moreover, we get to learn so much that we start liking internet and all the stuff that it has to offer.

I guess we are. Every night I promise myself and my wife that I'll go to bed earlier and I always end putting off the computer at 3.00 AM. At this moment I should be preparing to go shopping and I'm answering your discussion. So you should feel guilty, because perhaps all the family will starve tonight (lol).

I don't think it's making me a loner. I would much prefer to go out with my friends or see my boyfriend than use the internet. I spend around an hour and a half per day on the net. On MyLot, doing surveys and working on my site but i spend far more time socializing. I really think you should make an effort to see your family and friends. What is it about the net that keeps you away from them?

If you ignore the fact that the online people you communicate with are real life humans, then yes, it is making us loners. I sometimes don't even talk. No need at all.

Actually, I have made some good friends on-line and have used the Internet to keep in touch with other friends that I am too far away from to keep in touch with other ways.
It all depends on how you use the Internet. I know some old people who can't get out and about much; but, they keep in touch with friends and family over the Internet for a LOT less money than they would spend if they had to rely on the mail or phones.

This is an interesting post. i know that i am a very friendly person, and i got many friends.
But two months ago i moved to another place, and here all of the people that are my age are usually married and with children, so i do not get out as much as before.
Although my friends from the big city do visit me alote, i find myself more and more on the net.
I can not say that i would rather be on the net then with friends. whenever an offer is coming i never will always go out.
But still this is a very strange situation to me, and i can definitely say that the net did make me a loner those two months.

I think you are absolutely correct. I know that this is the case with me anyways. I spend probably about 8-10 hours a day on the Internet. The reasons I am on it now vary from the past...I used to go on for on-line gaming but never do now.
cheers,
