DisneyWorld or DisneyLand?

The family trip to DisneyWorld is iffy in my mind right now. I am looking now more towards just my own family going on vacation. Now that I'm thinking that way, I realize we have many more options open to us. DisneyWorld was the original destination. Shorter flight, closer to where we live. DisneyLand is quite a jaunt. I've never been to California though and my 11 yr old daughter has always said she wants to go there someday. If we visit DisneyLand, we can rent a car and drive to Monterey Bay. My 6 yr old son wants to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It's his holy grail, since it contains the world's largest jellyfish exhibit. DisneyLand will of course be more expensive due to the longer flight, renting the car, going to the aquarium. If we stick to the original plan of going in November though, that gives us plenty of time to save up the extra money needed. So my big question is, have you been to both Disney World and Disney Land? If so, which one did you like better and why?
