Exactly! It has much less to do with your cats moemory and much more with your cat realising it has a chance to try and get away with doing those forbidden things when your back is turned! My cat does it all the time, i will tell her not to claw the curtains but as soon as she thinks i'm not looking she'll claw them again! Kids and husbands seem to suffer from selective hearing too!

Cat's have a very good memory, your cat is just being a cat and being independent.

Your cat has a really good memory, it's just that he doesn't want to listen to you. Cats don't usually listen to what people say. It's not that they don't understand what's going on, it's just that they don't care. Cats are independent creatures so they will do whatever they want! I guess cats are kind of stuck up in that way...

I think cat's have a good memory but it depence on what it is. When they do something you don't like you have to forbid this over and over again. For exemple putting their nails into your sofa. Cat's don't know what they are doing wrong becaurse it's their nature to sharpen their claws. But when it's about food they have an super memory. They just know very quick when it's eating time. So I think they only memorize what they whant to.

LOL That's called not obeying the rules. Their memory is very good. If you don't think so: try this-Anger your kitty and then watch them ignore or do mean things to you afterward; as if to say: revenge is mine!!!! LOL
They have very good memory if healthy.
