This is my pet. His name is ISMO. nice name, right? He's an abyssinian. that's him more than a year ago. he is so little then. i had a very hard time knowing his gender that time. but now, he grew longer. and you can easily identify he's gender. but, really, how do you know their sexuality during their 2 months?

Check out www.cavyspirit.com/sexing.htm for an easy sexing guide with photos of guinea pigs at all ages for sexing (even newborns). Guinea pigs can be sexed the day they're born, so you'd definitely be able to tell at 2 months. Male guinea pigs can get females pregnant at 3 weeks of age, so it's important for people to know early.

Does your piggie show any signs of having dandruff on its back? It may have mites if it's screaming all the time. See www.guinealynx.info for additional guinea pig information.

If you can find nothing medically wrong, try sitting down and holding him firm enough that he feels safe but not to tight. Softly talk to him as you stroke him, if he gets to upset put him back, but try to do this at least once a day but more often would be best, he will get use to it and know that he is safe and might settle more. But if you still find he squeals really loudly when you do it he might have an injury or a pain somewhere. Hope this helps.
