When browsing through discussions, do you always click on the discussion...

or do you just look at the title and some of the previewed sentences and make a judgment whether the discussion is interesting or not? Sometimes, if I'm just browsing through the top or new discussions, I just read the title and preview and if it's interesting, I click on it and try to respond. Otherwise, I just browse through it. But I always make an exception with my friends. Basically, I just click on their discussion and if I relate with the topic, I respond. How about you? Do you click every discussion, or just look at the title?

Well I usually do that if Im short on time, if I have enough time then I actually just respond to the ones that I have a good title. If I at least no what kind of subject the discussion is with the topic then I will always go in. Though sometimes I find that it was a waste of time and I just... go find another one.

Yeah but sometimes, the title is actually misleading.

If a discussion looks like it might be interesting then I will open it up and look. I do read them all the way through. Sometimes I will respond but there have been a number of times that I just couldn't think of anything new to add. I do read all of my friends discussions. I admit that there are some discussion that I don't respond to but I do try to respond to as many as I can.

Yeah. Sometimes, a topic could be interesting but I just couldn't think of anything to add because more or less, the posters before me had said it all.

When i browse through discussions, i basically look at discussions in my interests be it sports, health, food...or discussions of my friends. Mostly if i like a particular topic in my interest and if i feel i can contribute to the diacussion i reply to that post. Also sometimes i reply to my friends discussions just by seeing their discussions as their discussions are interesting and i love responding to them.

Sometimes, it's safer to reply to your friend's discussion because more or less, you know you have the same interests.

There are lots and lots of new topics and discussions on the board and its very difficult to get into each and every discussion. So I just prefer to get into the topics or discussion from the subject line when I think the topic is of my interest or if I think I would be able to give my opinion or comment.

title is also important, but if I find good discussing words below the title, I always read it and answer them.

That's the reason why I always try to get my idea across in the first two lines. I know that sometimes, a title doesn't really say it all.

I just usually read the title, and if it gets my interest, I'll read on.

When I browse through the discussion, I read the title and the small part of the description beneath it. If I find it interesting, I will go ahead and reply to it. This is not always the case so that's why I prefer to answer discussions that are of my interest. This can sometimes be the same thing with friends, but usually the post interesting topics so I would go ahead and respond anyway. It doesn't always have to relate to me. If a person needs advice, I will go ahead and give it to them.

yes that's what I do, I base my choice on the title and the first couple of lines we can see ... as for my friends it's different because I receive their discussions in my mail box where the full discussion is displayed so I can have a better insight of the topic

yeah, i usually look at the title first in top discussion, recent discussion and new discussion. If i can respond it,i'll respond it but if i can't respond,i'll just search another discussion until i find some discussion that i can respond.

I will ofcourse look at titles first, then if intressed, I read the sniplett, and then read more if the subject is well writen. And if I can relate I respond.

there are lots of people who respond just for the sake of responding and earning some points. it is always better to respond only if you can relate to the topic. and i agree with you seoguy. better to just respond if a certain topic interests you.

Hi Natalie, I pretty much do the same as you. I will browse the titles and opening bit to see what catches my interest. Once something does capture my interest then I will respond. cheers,
