It would depend on the rock band and their music.
I feel that music can create moods. Heck, that is why they use it in the movies... you know those really intense parts of the movies have the really intense music. Love movies have the soft sappy songs. If the intent of the music is to send messages of hate and violence then yes, it promotes violence. The music doesn't make anyone do it. We still have our own agency to resist. Music can still encourage and promote violence. Just listen to the words. Most lyrics will tell you what the song is about.

What a crazy answer. Real rockers always have claimed "make love not war", and music is a mean of understanding between people and shrinking the world! You don't have to understand the language of a song to enjoy it or even dance to it, so different cultures and encountered opinions becomes one when music acts. Rock bands just complains sometimes about some things that works bad in the world, but this is not bad nor criminal. A crime is censorship that get music banned because of "ideologyc diversionism" as rock has been in some dictatorships.

Not all...there are rock bands that do sometimes. But if you're referring to Linkin Park, since the topic is under Linkin Park...then no...they're not promoting violence. Have you heard of their latest one...called "What I've Done" - for me its actually about forgiveness...so, they're definitely not promoting violence on that one.

No, one genre of music does not promote violence, the individual ban choses what it promotes. Whether it be violent or not, you can promote anything you want, and to say that all rock fans are violent is the same idea as saying all russians are communists, or that all mexicans are good at landscaping, or that all black people listen to rap and are in gangs, etc. And personally i think it is wrong to mention that one group of people does something, but hey if you want to promote such slanderous things then by all means its your choice.
