Ive been with call center industry since like forever lol oh, about 5 years or so..based from my experience outbound campaign can and will make you cry. Pressure is soo high where you should, have to meet the quota. some people are born for that campaign. however, if you are not pushy and doesnt want to sell then your option will be an inbound campaign... try looking for financial firms coz trust me it pays great, the workload is ok and you might have a chance to be a broker in NASDA some day...(check out SYKES or AWWC)

I am a call center agent. I chose to apply on an INBOUND one thinking that this is much easier than the OUTBOUND. However, i think that it is just the same.
Working in a call center will call for patience. Just condition yourself that this is one stressful job. You'll get screamed at by some of the clients. Sometimes, they'll intimidate you.
When these things happens, just find something to laugh at. Most of the time, they don't have anything against you, they're against the company that you are working for.
Although, there are good sides in working in the call center. Your english will be enhanced as well as confidence. And the pay is not bad too!
Good luck!

Have done in the recent past and it really depends on your department and the center client. Sales (and they often don't tell you about the sales goals up front) departments have a lot more pressure than technical assitance depts, so try for that. The customer base of the center is a big factor. Americans are not particularly well known for their courteous demeanors and their attitude can add a lot of pressure to the job, although this is generally true of any customer base (you wouldn't believe the odd temper tantrum you will get). Overall, the job is not bad with good pay and benefits round here. No room for upward movement though, you won't see promotions.

It really depends on the company you sign up with. I have done call center work but only when the calls were inbound. I would not want to do outbound calls as you can get people who are not happy to be interrupted in their day. Look for a company that pays by the hour, not by the time you are on the phone with someone or by commission. There are good companies out there. Good luck.
