Keep notice of things that happen to you or others throughout the day. You may get some good ideas from that.
I've noticed myself that the topics that have the most thought to them are the ones that get the least replies so maybe try to make them thoughtless discussions?
Good luck to you.

Sherri--
I find myself posting topics that I either have questions about or that I have made a decision about recently and want to be reassured that I am doing the right thing...like questions about my cat (I'm a first time cat owner) or new medications that the doctor has put me....god I hate new meds, but I like knowing what other people have experienced with them. It's encouraging to hear people's good results and know what to watch for in the bad ones.
And, I don't always get a lot of responses either. I think uness you write about controversial things, people ignore you and me and everyone else :)

Usually i don't start too many topics just few ,guess haven't started even 20 in 2 months and the recent topics i started was based on real events and few based on the sms(text messages) i got on my cell so i thought to start topics with these, basically i rather prefer to respond to others topics than to start one of my own.

It depends on my mood.. sometimes I just answer to interesting topics whose topic starter is active in his/her own discussion, in other words - replies to most comments he/she might receive. Other times I check to see if the topic starter cares enough to choose a best answer, and I only reply if they do. And other times I just reply to any topic of interest regardless of any of the aforementioned things.
Much luck :)

I have had such a low response to most of my discussions, that I rarely start a new one anymore! I may try again someday...maybe not. But for now, I like to give honest responses on subjects of which, I feel, I can give a good comeback.

I tend to respond to discussions rather than start them for the same reason you give, it is hard thinking up new topics. I think you can earn more from starting discussions though but I find I enjoy reading other discussions and responding to them.

Hello,sherrir101,I like to start some discussion topics which i have experienced on them personally, most of the topics are related to daily life, relationship as they are the topics which members from every countries can understand, they are all something you will encounter in daily life. I will not post topics that happen in Australia only as there are not many members from australia, other people outside australia may not know what I am talking about if I am talking about aussies things.
Sometimes,I will read the news and search from the internet to see whether there are soe interesting topics for discussions.
Good luck.

I usually will start a discussion if I need advice on something that is happening to me personally in my life. I don't start discussions every day because there are many times things are great and nothing eventful is happening. I then spend my time responding to discussions.

I haven't been picking up post topics for a long time. It's enough for me to reply the post which were created before.I don't choose topic subject.I have really difficulty in finding subjects.Even if I find,I am not able to broaden my thoughts to nice words and sentences.I think my English is still poor.If I live in English speaking country,I may be sending lots of posts and creating many topic subjects.I have really an ordinary life in campus and this may be a reason for which I can't find topics since everything in campus is such limited that I have to graduate at the end of this semester.I don't take care any people, thoughts, life modes and so on.I am inside and outside this world.

Whether I am beginning a discussion or responding to someone else's discussion, I try to pick topics that peak my interest. I have many interests and so it really isn't that hard, but there are days where I come up empty for a discussion and/or I can't find a topic to respond to that speaks to me. Nevertheless, I come back to Mylot every day.

it must be of something that is of interest to me and able to make me stay longer in the discussion. I won't choose something that i can't stay long in.

Hi Sherri, I have a very hard time coming up with discussions myself , so I usually just use something that has happened in my life recently. Alot of the time I dont get very many responses either. We just have to keep on trying tho. I mainly reply to other peoples discussions.

I also have a hard time coming up with ideas for discussions. It's hard for me to come up with something good. When I get an idea from several responses I make, that's when I decide to start a new discussion. I choose a topic of interest that people generally have. This is how you get more responses for your discussions. Let's face it, your not going to get much responses if you start a new discussion in an interest that 20 other people share. You need to find one with more people. I like having instant ideas! When I do have one, I make sure I post it right away before I forget.

I have a hard time too. I try to start discussions about day to day living or ideas that pop in my mind but they don't pop very often.

I do have a lot of ideas for my discussion that involves my daily life, things I see,
and things I think I ought to get the views from others. Many a time I have to think how to put it into proper writing so that the reader is not confused and could come back with a good response. It is interesting to see the different responses that I get from here. So far my friends have given me satisfactory responses which I am proud of.

I try and post discussions on things that have happened in my life or that will be happening soon. I also post some discussions asking for help on little things that no one else I know have the answer and just to get feedback on different things. I usually don't get alot of responses on my discussions either but I'm trying. I think I had 14 people respond to one of my discussions so I was happy. I think people mainly respond to discussion that spark their interest. Like you said, there are so many people on here that we are bound to write about something that someone else has already talked about.

I also feel the same. I don't know what kind of topic people tend to respond better. Sometimes, I can see that the topic being discussed is nothing unfamiliar but still it receives good responses. I seldom post a new discussion but like to respond to others if only I have the answer. Sometimes, I don't even realize that the topic was discussed quite some times ago.
I do feel that lately, it is very hard to find a discussion that interests me. Some of them, being posted for so many times and in a different ways.
