my dad would usually bring boar and deer meat and eel from work (given by comrades).. he loves eating them but i dont.. he always tell stories about he had tried snake and lizards before.. snakes taste like chicken they said, but still i dont want to..
so if given the chance, would you try boar, deer, eel, snake, lizard meat? well aside from those that we usually eat like farm rats (well some like it), eggs of red ants that we call hantik, edible beetle we call abal-abal, locusts, etc.. or the ilocano "binubudan" or yeast for rice wine?

Deer and eel are very common food here in Denmark so I have no problem with that. THere's nothing I wouldn't try at least once so yes I'd take snake and lizzard if someone cooked it for me.

I started eating deer and boar at a very young age. My dad introduced it to me along with eel. Eel is good when it's grilled ^_^
You should try the bayawak (monitor lizard). It tastes like chicken, only bonier and its eggs have the texture of boiled kamote (sweet potatoes) but it tastes like regular egg yolk (egg yolk because that's all there is inside the egg: yolk).
Sea urchins have an acquired taste so I only eat them sometimes.

I haven't tried snakes yet although my dad told me that they taste like chicken. I do eat snails and frogs though.. Frogs taste like chicken too ehehe.. I've eaten carabao meat and it tastes like beef, only tougher. I've also tried eating kangaroo meat. It tastes like beef too, but it has that "malansa" aftertaste so you have to eat it with mint jelly.
Sea urchins...it's either you like them or you don't. I've only eaten them raw, as sushi, and it's pretty slimy...not to mention expensive. You should also try eating raw beef (sushi or tartar steak). It's good!

::shuddering:: I've been a vegetarian for 13 years and I wouldn't eat any of those things you mentioned. There is no way I could ever eat an insect even if I ate meat - they just creep me out too badly. I'd probably starve if I was stranded on an island because I don't think I could make myself it fish or bugs.
