My husband and son spent a year over there. The whole culture is so different from "western" culture. They complain about being poor yet they all have AKs. Why does the west think they have to babysit and bail out every other country that hates us on a regular basis. They won't even take responsibility for their own safety, we are still there aren't we. Things will never change over there and we should expect no better

Hello,
Yesterday I saw a news article with a different approach to ending the conflict in the Middle East. It focused on teenagers about to become of age to enter military service. There is a camp being run in Maine, USA that brings Israeli and Muslim teenagers together, eating, playing, and working together for two weeks. They have trust building exercises where each must trust the other to accomplish a task like cross between two pole on a suspended rope. The intention is to humanize the enemy. When they enter military service the enemy will have a face and they will know much more about the other culture making it more difficult to justify killing. I think it is much more effective than any of the political approaches. What do you think?

I do believe the Bible talks about 7 years of peace in the Middle East in the end times but it is not specific as to when that will happen.

I believe that pac will prevail in the middle east once everyone can put their differences aside and get along with each other. This will be very difficult, if not almost impossible to do, since they have been at war for so many centuries but maybe - just maybe - a new breed of middle easterner will prevail that can help the countries get along.
