Were you ever completely turned off by something silly?

Romantically, I mean. There was a person I had a crush on at work. A lot of eye contact and laughing together and even breaking into dance (you had to be there to understand that one) but nothing ever spoken.
Then one day, I saw him driving into the parking lot and he threw a candy wrapper out of the car window. That was it for me, I was no longer interested. It showed a thoughtless nature that I saw as much more. He must be selfish, shallow and maybe borderline criminal.
After that, I interpreted everything he did as thoughtless or worse, and I avoided him. You might think that was silly, but don't small things really show a person's nature? Of course, if I had known him better, I wouldn't have read so much into it.

I've been turned off by less... men that walk through the door first, ones that laugh obnoxiously, men that answer their cell in the middle of a conversation. Call me fickle, but it just gave me the justification to end something I wasn't 100% comfortable with to begin with. Probably if you think about it, your situation wasn't much different.
You thought he was cute, enjoyed being around him, but somehow knew you weren't much of a match with.
I agree, too... it seems pretty thoughtless of him. Makes you wonder whether you'd be treated any better.

Yes, that last sentence really says it all! A friend pointed out that going into each new relationship you have a longer list of things you aren't going to put up with, because X did that.

uhm, all of this because he threw a candy wrapper out of the car window?? Aren't you kinda over reacting? I mean, he probably didn't mean anything by it. And a lot of people actually does that...and I wouldn't really consider all of them as " selfish, shallow and borderline criminals".
Good day. Ü

If I were over reacting, I would have made a citizen's arrest! To me, it did show his attitude- the world is his garbage can. I think that small thing made me notice other things I didn't like about him. Hasn't that ever happened to you?
