As far as I'm concerned, Firefly and Star Trek TNG are the two best pieces of Science Fiction in television history. The depth by which each show's writers went into in order to define the characters has been left unmatched. This begs the inevitable question. How would life aboard Serenity be different if Picard were the captain, and how would life aboard The Enterprise be different with Mal?
