Its a comman scene around examination halls studets reading a lot during last few minutes before exams.I have never read during last minutes before exams as i think when ever we read we should take a brake inbetween so as to retain a image of what we have read. So I avoid it. INstead when my other friends seems to be tensed about the exams they find me dancing in my room I use to do this to refresh my mind. whats your experience? Do you prefer to read during last minutes befor exams? IS it realy helps to those who do? please share your experiences...

Well, I also do the same thing. I don't read whatever I have read the day before the exam so that I won't get mental-blocked during the exam. But maybe, it is the pressure that gives it. What I just do is to pray that I can answer all the items in our exam.

I am well past that stage of having to take examinations, my friend, but I used to go over the sketchy bits right up till we were told to get started. It is just a nervous habit, and I don't think it actually helps. You either know it by then or you don't.

I never ever study in the last few moments before the exam and the poltergeist in me always likes to play pranks with those who do so. I remember during our college days, myself and a friend of mine used to reach college 1 hour before the exam and would go and sit beside a person who is sincerely reading for the exam and start discussing something on the subject which is not in the course. Believe me, you always hit bullseye with the strategy. The look of panic that sets in people when they realize that they have missed something which is coming in the papers is unbelievable. While some may feel that it was mean, it was our way of getting back at muggers who just mug everything rather than understand the principle behind it :) Cheers! Ram

It is not advisable to have a last minute revision as it will not refresh all that have been prepared and stored in the brain before the exam.

I think many people may not agree to my response. When I was still in school, I always read during the last minute before exams. I think it worked for me. If I went over the lessons earlier, I would forget about it.

Every person is a different person. Some prefer to read in the last minutes and others think that this can only misplace the ideas. I usually give a last minute read, trying to absorb anything that I maybe have missed. And usually it works. But just because it work for some it doesn't mean that will work for everyone.

I had the practice of reading even in the last minute before going into the exam hall. Most of the students do like this to remind of the points read by them.I will not read any new chapter rather read only the read ones to keep myself updated. Actually those who read new chapters gets confused and forget even whatever they read in the past.so its better to update what we read before exams.

I completely agree with you. There is no point in studying upto last minute. It usually makes you more tense as when you see books you tend to think that i have not read this & that.I never used to take any books in school or college during my exam days.My freinds used to take. Also i tried to remainas calm & tension free as possible. Also i always avoided late night studies during exams as i thought that good sleep is very important.

If I don't know it when I get up the day of the exam then I will never know it. Reading the text book ten minutes before the exam will not do any good at all. It is better to just relax and get into a good frame of mind.

I do agree. In really cramp anything before an exam. I have to read a topic atleast 5times before i fully understand it. But do tend to forget even then. I can never remember nos. Names, etc. I understand the concept as i do remember concept more concretely than these thing i mentioned before.

I agree with you. While I used to think it was a talent being able to read faster than my peers, I've found that reading slower allows me to absorb it and better retain it. I only do last-minute cramming if I haven't been studying like I should be. :P
