Does anyone else here use Roadrunner internet service?

Do you have a lot of issues with it? It seems to constantly be "out" here and when it finally comes back will be very intermittent. I pay the premium price for a cable internet service for SERVICE! I'm getting very frustrated.

I have road runner, have had it for almost 3 years. In general, if there is a problem, I just reboot my router and wireless. Outside of a general power outage, I think I have had problems may 2 or 3 times. Overall, it is the only good thing I can say about cable. I just wish they would lower the price.

Everything's brand new from the wires to the routers/modem. So it can't be that AND when I call I'm told "the area is having an outage". Seems to be the standard line and unfortunately means I'm not the only one that has to be getting this frustrated!

Have you upgraded your indoor cable. I had to do that for my digital tv service, it may help you.

We had trouble when we first got it and we called them up. They had to come out and check it out. It seems when the idiot put it in he put it in with a splicer and we weren't getting enough signal for it. After that we've had very little problems. The occassional outage but nothing serious (knock on wood :)) and usually late at night like they are doing upgrades or something. I would suggest calling them and if need be talk with a supervisor. Don't let the average phone talker help you. Most of the time they have no clue on what they are talking about.

LOL... see my above post. The regular customer service rep was lost and ignorant to boot. What aggrevates me is that I'm NOT the only one, obviously, since the answer is always "it's an outage in your area".

I read the response, oh yeah I'd be talking with the supervisor. You know darn well she didn't pass on the message. She knew she'd get in trouble. I'd demand a credit as well. I've done that in the past and they've given it to me. Good luck with the battle.

I used to have roadrunner service and had that very same problem, I called them and complained and when I did not get satisfactory response I asked to speak to a supervisor, usually that helps, seems my router was going out wherein it caused it to be intermittent service, you might call them, the routers we have in our state only are guaranteed for one year, which usually they go out close to that. Hope that helps.

I literally, as I was responding to this earlier was knocked off again. Mind you, this is NOT dialup it's cable! So I called. I got this rude girl, ignorant as you know what and let me tell you I haven't been real thrilled anyways but give me a rude operator and man I'm up for a rumble! LOL So I tried at first to NICELY ask her what the issue is and she said "Well we is having another outage in your area. Ain't nothin' we can do about it". Yes, she obviously hadn't graduated highschool with honors in English! I said "Well there IS something you can do about it, you can either upgrade your system or find better servers because MOST people do NOT get 1/2 of what they're paying for and I want credited for ALL of this down time. I had crappy dialup that was this aggrevating for 1/3 the price!" Then she starts pulling some major attitude. Needless to say I requested her supervisor, of which she says to me "I don't know wha 'chu want cuz I told you". To which I answered.. .I want your BOSS and NOW. She proceeds to tell me that she will have to have a supervisor call me, of which they never did. Needless to say, I will be calling tomorrow and not only complaining about the service but also the operator. Can you say VERY aggrevated!?

Oh, I have had that happen more times than I can say, so hopefully you got the girl's name or badge number to give to the supervisor otherwise she will not get credit for her wonderful customer service abilities.

I've been having the same problems since Time Warner/RoadRunner bought out Adelphia cable. It doesn't seem to affect the TV cable much, but the internet service is horrible. You're right, it goes out all the time- sometimes for hours at once. I have also found that the so-called customer service people are not very interested in being helpful or providing service to their customers. It's too bad that they have a monopoly right now for broad band connections; hopefully they will get more competition in a few years when Verizon completes installing all of their underground fiberoptics.

Thank you! You're located near me and if you're commenting the same I'm realizing it's their complete service, not just this particular area. It's ridiculous. I pay decent fees to have cable, internet and phone and I expect it to run. I understand a problem once in a while but this is ridiculous.

We have Roadrunner and it has gone out of service alot. Lately it has been good. But for awhile there, it was horrible. I understand your frutration, though. We live in a very small town (746) and it seems alot of things don't work the way they are supposed to.

Well, while my town isn't exactly huge it's not tiny (140K or so) and I know there are other options. It seems to be a normal thing for these people from what so many others are saying too. I also have their phone service and it's out most of the time with the internet, although not always. Not worth it indeed.

We are using verizon. Roadrunner seems to have problems. Can youo get Verizon if so I suggest you switch to them and leave Roadrunner. I have not heard anyone say they were happy with them.

My parents and aunt have verizon and it's really not as fast around here as the cable. I'm thinking of comcast if I can or Lord knows what but it can't be worse then roadrunner!

I'm not sure where they are... it's a division of Time Warner Cable and some other Neo or something. They may have it in Canada and Puerto Rico, but not sure.

I have roadrunner and love it- When I first got it I had problems- I called them and called them- they always came right out- I got several months of credits- I wasn't paying the full price- and yes I know what you mean about premium! It had something to do with the outside cable line- Have you tried calling them-?? I haven't lost due to it being "out" here only one time and that was for 3 days! Oh I was miserbale- I got a credit for those 3 days!

I currently have RoadRunner for my internet, through my cable company I have the highest speed connection available and only pay 15 dollars for it. I am very pleased with it. I've only have had one problem with it since getting it in January. When I called them about it They were very appologetic and sent someone out within the hour. :)
