Better halfs are life partners, right? Everyone is 50% perfect, and the life partner make them 100% perfect.

The better half is a term used to describe the Husband or Wife. More so, the men use it as a term of endearment when they talk to someone else about their wives and they like to use this term. I personally think it is quite sweet and like it when men think highly of their wives and don't abuse them and put them down.

I never did like that expression, maybe it's pride or something. I have been asked that tho. My response has always been "I don't have a better half, I'm just as good as he is". Maybe I'm wrong to think like that but I also don't like the term "Old Man" or "Old Lady".

I think the saying about the better half means that the person you are with is someone you admire and you think they are better than you are in some aspects. They canbe better at many things than you are, but it does not have to mean they are better than you at everything.

Well, when you break the phrase down it basically means half of what you are and you view that half to be better than the other half. So I guess that means you acknowledge the person as half of who you are and that they are the better half of who you are. I see it as they make you a better person, not necessarily that they are better than you. Dictionary definition simply says one's husband or wife.
