What does it take to earn a 10 and retain it too?

I started of with the rating of 8 and then when i reached my 10 star rating, it never came down. Well its basically the rating the people do over here. If they '+' your response or your topic then it improves your ratings. Moreover the replies or responses we make are kept on deleted after some time from the mylot servers. At that time your rating also get effected. I know only this much as told by other users. Rest, am not sure about it.

Hello,lovelydame3000,it is normal to habe fluctuations in rating,it depends on how other memebrs rate you,if they rate you positive,your rating will be increased,no one can guarantee how to get and keep a blue star,but the key is to keep a good quality discussions and replies. They should not be one liners in order to be of good quality. Good luck.

Well congratulations lovelydame for earning star rating of 10 and then when it went down to get it back to 10 again. Well for my opinion i always have had 9 star rating yet to get to 10 till now. So going by my mylot friends who have 10 star ratings i can say that you should post good quality replies more often, then post few discussions of your own which i have failed to do for sometime now. then add comments and tags to your discussions, and rate all the responses to to your discussions. And be nice and friendly to fellow mylotians it all goes a long way to enhance one's reputation in mylot.

well, i have never been higher than a 9 and honestly doubt i ever will lol so im probably the wrong person to ask. As far as i can tell you just have to make sure you dont upset anyone to get and keep a ten, ive never been very good at doing that lol. blessed be p.s congratulations on your ten by the way

I think I've got a 6 star rating when I have 200 posts.When I reached around 270,it dropped to 5,but now it get back to 6 stars.I really don't know how this system works!But I think this system depends how you respond those question,your contribution to mylot community and also how people rates you.I think it should be a very complicated calculation!It is hard to find it out!

It's based on the plus and minus given to you by other users. That's all. To keep your 10, just keep posting quality posts - hopefully other users will rate you positively. That's about all you can do.

Wow you went back to 10? I didn't think that was possible, it seems that every one is stuck on 9... I just dropped to 8, I have no idea why. I don't think anyone relaly understand how the system work.

I think the main thing with getting and keeping any rating is to never post your opinion, I once posted an opinion and I went down from and 8 to a 4 over night, it took me a while to get back up to the 8 and Ive been tryin hard to get to a 10 but in some sense I must still annoy people as my rating /100 keeps going down :( but tbh my rating doesnt really bother me anymore, I know that if people - rate me cuz I gave my honest opinion they are only looking for validation to their own opinion on here and are not really bothered about what others have to say, just here for the money! Congrats on getting to a 10 though, it has become so much harder to get good ratings here on mylot. Enjoy your time here!

These ratings are a percentage. So you are affected much more, you who only has a couple of hundreds of posts, than a mylotter who has thousands and thousands of posts by a couple of negative ratings. A couple of negative ratings can pull you down quite a bit. Then when you get lots of positive ratings again your star goes up again. People who have many posts are more stable they do not go up or down fast. So do not worry too much, post more and everything will be fine!
