Do You Have A Cat That Likes to Drink From the Faucet?

My cat Lucky will not drink from a bowl. Every single time someone has to go to the bathroom, she must drink from the faucet. She will meow something crazy until you turn it on for her. She will throw that paw over the faucet and go to town on it:)

that's adorable! I don't know why cats like that so much. I have a cat whose very old and she did that until she got too old to jump up to the sink and in and out of the bathtub. We bought her one of those little table top fountains and fill it with water and turn it on for her all day. she drinks out of it. It's so cute.

That's what we need to get Lucky. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get your fountain?

My cat climbs into the tub and will drink the water dripping from the tub faucet and I've always tried to get him to stop. But, sounds like it's normal behavior, so I guess I'll just let him do it. Cats are funny people!

I think it's where the water is fresh and not just sitting in a bowl. That's my husband's theory. He said he is going to get her a fountain and see how she does with that. I think she'll still want the faucet because she won't drink out of it until it makes that hissing sound. It's all in how it sounds with her or it's not right. LOL

I have a few cats that prefer to drink from the faucet. I always leave mine on just a little bit so they can have it anytime. I don't pay for water so I can do that. I have well water. I always thought I had weird cats but it looks like mine aren't the only ones.

My water bill tends to run a little high because of my fuzzybutt wanting water out of it all the time. Right now, it's at a constant drip because of our excessive catering to our furbaby. It has caused something to come loose in the faucet and it is now leaking. She doesn't have a problem with that though.

I have two cats that do this. They love the running water, they also can not get into the shower quick enough after I have finished to lick the water from the floor.

Our cats will come in the bathroom with us. If we turn the water on to just a trickle they will drink and play in the flow. They also like my desk-top fountains.

Your neighbor does this? LOL. Wow, I guess that's one way to do it when you're outside working in the garden.

I like cat. I have one and his name is Pelludo. Its spanish for hairy. He drinks from the bowl. But he likes to bring his food anywhere he like. After that I have to clean up all the dirt on the floor.

I have several that prefer the faucet. Oliver & Scamp will drink just fine together, because Oliver drinks from the drip & Scamp from the bowl. Oliver will also share with Taj, who is still trying to figure out the best way to do it, he gets pretty wet. He'll also share with his "uncle" Rygel even tho they both like to drink from the drip, they "play" well together. Oliver doesn't like to share with Nino, tho. Nino likes to drink right from the tap & that interrupts the stream Oliver is trying to drink from - he'll pop Nino.

my current cats don't,but i did have one previous that insisted on drinking from the faucet. i was tempted to install one of those pressure button faucets for him so he could turn it on himself and stop asking LOL

We have three cats, one of the males does the same. Our female cat likes to drink water from the hand if you let the water run into it. It's really cute.

My cats all like the water from the faucet better than their bowl. One of my faucets dripped all the time and when i fixed it they just went balistic. I leave one dripping most of the time. I guess it's only fair, we like fresh water too.

Yup, both Tyche and Dragon have to drink from the faucet any time someone goes to the bathroom. Well that or the bath if someone has just taken a shower.
