What do you know about mumps?

I think I have the mumps now. I went to urgent care and they said it looks like an infection of both salivary glands. I look like a chipmunk. They gave me an antibiotic. The doctor said since I had the shot it cannot be the mumps but we all know that sometimes vaccines do not work. I am in my 40's and way too old for this - LOL
