My friends might have noticed that I haven´t been on here in a while and it is because I had my baby. Well, he was actually born 9 days ago, but the last month was filled with problems, so I ended up not being online at all.
Anyway, the newest addition to our family is 7 lbs 12 oz and he arrived at 6 am on May 16, in the local hospital. My plan for a home birth failed after my midwife had to go in for surgery on her gallbladder! So I labored at home and then went to the hospital at 4:30 am. It was WAY easier than my first baby, and this one is perfectly healthy, I´m happy to report.
The only thing we are dealing with now is the difficulty of having two in the house! It is far more challenging than I had anticipated, caring for a newborn and a 17 month old at the same time. But I guess they´ll grow up fast and then I´ll miss these hectic days.
Anyway, I hope to be back on Mylot quite a bit from now on and just wanted to let you guys know what is going on.

congratulations! I had my little boy on April 26th, so I haven't been around much either! He was 7 lbs. 7 oz and my homebirth didn't work out as well... I labored at home, with a midwife who caused complications, for 20 hours, pushed at home for 3 of those hours, and then had to be transferred to the hospital for a C-section due to a malpresentation of his head made worse by me pushing him so hard for so long... he was wedged in so good it took 2 surgeons to get him out! I recovered quick and my son is perfect, so all is well now. I'm looking foreward to many discussions about our babes in the future! Check out my pictures to see my beautiful boy... and I love the picture of your two together... your older one's bedhead is adorable! Much love to your growing family!

Congrats, Astromama! I´m sorry to hear you had so many problems with your birth. I was wondering if you had had your little one yet. I´m just about to check out your pics! Can´t you tell I haven´t had time to do much but change diapers and try to keep everyone fed? Not even enough time to fix my older boy´s hair.lol. My sister says he looks like a total ragamuffin!

Congratulations on the new addition to your family. I am glad it all went well for you.
My sons are only 2 1/2 years apart and I always said that 2 children are more than twice as hard as one.
You are right in that they do grow up fast, I can't believe that mine are now 19 going on 20 and 22.
I am one of 5 children and me and my brother are exactly 1 year, 1 month, 1 week and 1 day apart and my mother said it was like having twins. She also said we were the easiest for her as we were so close in age that we always played together so needed less attention from her.
I do remember as well that you start to really believe that you will always be changing nappies and never sleeping but all that does pass, honest.

Congratulations! I'd been wondering about you. Sounds like you had the best delivery possible under the circumstances. He was born on my s/o's daughter's birthday too!
My youngest two are just under 19 months apart so I know what you're feeling! But (with mine at least) it got a lot easier after just a few months. Now they are 2 and 6 months and it's actually MORE difficult to deal with the baby and the 4 year old at the same time!
Oh and you're so lucky that big brother is adapting so well! My little one was actually SCARED of the baby when we first brought him home! I have no idea how a 7 pound 5 ounce 18 inch long newborn can terrify a 30 pound toddler but he did. It would have been funny if I hadn't felt so bad for the new big brother.

My older son was not impressed when he first realized that I had vanished for two days only to bring back a new little person. The look on his face when he saw that I was holding a baby was one of pure betrayal! I felt so bad and tried to hold him, but he wanted NOTHING to do with me for the first two days. Then he got brave enough to start poking Dante and now he adores him!

Congratulations on the birth of your second baby.
You must be very tired now as have to take care of two children at the same time. But treasure every moment as they will grow up very fast. These days will be your bitter sweet memories.

Eight? Wow. I am stopping with two. I love my boys and would love having more, but I just can´t handle being pregnant! I get crazy and since an epidural isn´t an option down here unless you have money to pay for a private hospital, I am not really interested in going through the birth process again. I admire you for doing so!

Congratulations!!!! I am glad to hear the birth itself went well. You are right that you will miss the hectic days when they are over, I also think you will find your feet and a routine and everything will settle down soon, you are all just adjusting to the change.
Anyway, glad to see your back. Tanika.
