Of Course, everyone of us sure to set goals for ourselves to achieve. I think that is the mean purpose of us living right or else it will be no meaning to live.

I have tried to set goals when I write but I find that I cannot keep to them, I was trying to write for an hour a day but I find I can only really make progress with anything I write when I'm in the mood for writing, at these times I will write for hours and at others I won't write for weeks.

I'm on the same page as nannacroc. I can set all the goals I want but never reach them because there are so many distractions in my life. And there is my health that is unpredictable that can prevent me from accomplishing a task.
On the writing board I attend, they have a July writing challenge. 50,000 words in the month. I print out a July calendar and write down the number of words I write each day. I have reached the 50,000 words the last two years but I have had to resort to writing a bunch of nonsense in my journal in order to achieve it. And what for? A certificate emailed to me? I can't write a lot if I'm in the process of editing. If I were writing a story I could set goals for a day but I may not reach it if the mood is not there to do so.
I gave up on setting goals. I need some other sort of motivation. If anyone has any ideas out there I would love to hear them. I even posted a picture on my wall of a mock-up of the cover of my novel to motivate me to finish it. It's not working.

I don't have any goals, not in mylot or elsewhere. Everything is based on my daily will and time. If I have time or if I feel good I write many posts otherwise don't write. Just wait my mood to improve.
