this is written for the benefit of my family, friends and business associates. it was given to me by a friend and i was asked to pass it on. many of you have by now, felt the effect of the incredible prices of gasoline given to us by the greedy oil companies. people say " what can we all do? they really have us!" i just say " no they don't, all of us are just lead to believe there is nothing we can do, but there is something we can do.
don't expect help from the politicians we voted in office to represent us. from the top level of government down to the bottom, they have campaigns and benefits that the oil companies and other other companies contribute to. the news media will not get involved because of the millions of dollars paid for air time, commercials and other donations. it is all up to us!if we want to stop this price gouging it is simple. beginning june 1st i say let us unite and stop buying gasoline and other oil products from both exxon ( mobil) and bp. if these two alone are boycotted, in one week's time their monthly profits will be hurt nationwide about $100 million! those two companies will try to hold out for awhile by cutting production, and laying off people. the next cut would be to management, the next cut would be to the pricing.
i feel that once they come down to less than $1.95 a gallon for premium is when we start to purchase their products again. in the meantime, the other companies will automatically lower their pricing in order to be competitive. i think this plan will work.. it can't hurt to try right?

What price gouging? Supply and demand isn't evil, its fair, even if it hurts the consumer... Just because prices go up doesn't mean foul play is involved.
And what are we supposed to do in the meantime with no gas? Just not go to work? Ride public transportation and overcrowd that? I don't agree that politicians and media aren't going to do anything, we already see tons of criticism in the media for oil prices.

Hi MrNiceGuy, well, I think you might have missed some of the post. I wasn't trying to suggest not to buy any gas, boycott Exxon Mobil and BP were the only two companies, there are plenty other ones, but the thought here is that the smaller companies would lower their prices if they saw the larger companies losing some money.. it was a thought.
I live in Chicago, recently on local and national news it was reported that we pay the highest gas prices in the nation.. lucky us! lol
