What do you think the Heat should do with their team during the offseason?

The same team went on and won it all in 2006. Yet, the same team went down and won nothing in the 2007 playoffs. What do you think went wrong and what should the team do with their lineup and coaching staff in order to get back on track?

Like many have said, the Heat need to get the team younger and more athletic team. Shaq is not getting any younger, Wade cannot carry the team always as we saw this season. I like the Garnett idea but I doubt that will happen.
It's suprising that this is virtually the same team that won the championship. However, what almost every team did especially the Bulls was get fresh, energized players. Maybe they can answer their problem through the draft. either way, I don't think they can solve change this overnight. It might take a couple of years.

Yup, it's amazing how one team can virtually go the exact opposite direction. The league, especially the Bulls, just caught up with the Heat and knew exactly how to beat them. It's the Heat's turn to adjust to the league, and you're right, getting younger is the right option. Let's hope Pat Riley makes all the right moves in the off season. Thanks for the comment.

What the Heat need to do is rebuild their team, get younger, talented, fast players and get rid of the old ones. Though they have the experience, but the game has evolved. The Heat is a great team when players are healthy, especially when D.Wade is healthy. But the team must look into the future. Dwyane Wade needs more help, he can't carry the team all by himself. Shaq, Gary and Mourning are not getting any younger though we cannot consider Gary and Mourning to play this fast-paced game anymore. They have what they wanted, NBA Rings. Perhaps Shaq can still go one/two years but the role players have to step up a notch, if they want to get another title next year. What Miami needs are consistent role players or perhaps another scorer/threat from the inside the paint. When Shaq is going to retire, who will replace him? I don't think Mourning will do the job. He can only play limited minutes. They should get someone like Kevin Garnett perhaps. He can score, rebound, defend and pass.
The Heat have great outsider shooter, so I guess they can keep them. Eddie Jones, James Posey, Jason Williams and Jason Kapono can all hit the three's. Let us not forget, Antoine Walker can also hit three pointers but also can post up however, he is not the consistent one. His numbers went down from last year. And when Wade was out, he was one I was hoping to step it up. But like I said, consistency is a big factor.
If I were to change players/remove line-up, I would get rid of Payton, Mourning and add Kevin Garnett to the line-up. I would also add Al Jefferson. He is the most underrated player in the NBA perhaps.

You're right. The heat needs to get younger. Only Wade is the "young" guy in that lineup. I like the Garnett thing although i doubt if the wolves would trade him. I just hope Garnett sees that he won't win anything with the wolves' poor basketball management, and further hope that he opts to be traded to the Heat. Now that's a lethal triple threat, Wade, Shaq, and the Big Ticket! Thanks for the comment.
