first thing you do when you receive your pay/salary

end of the month is just around the corner! immediately after receiving your pay (after gasping when you saw the tax deduction), whats the first thing you do with your pay? do you buy a book or a magazine? do you treat yourself and dine out? do you give something to your parents or siblings? deposit it on a bank or pay the bills?
first thing i do is pay all bills and then treat myself with a movie or any food or book! how about you

Pay bills first - because it's the responsible thing to do - and then I usually get a new book or go out for Thai food. Lately though, I've started going to the library more... so hopefully I'll save some money.

I have my paycheck deposited directly into my bank account, so it is less tempting to spend it. Then I write checks to pay my bills and will take out a litle cash from the ATM when I need it. I try not to take out more than $40 at a time because I find it harder to keep track of the cash I spend than if I use a credit or debit card. This works well for me and I usually end up saving almost one half of my paycheck by havingit in the bank and making myself "forget" to spend it.

wow you have a nice way of handling your pay! kudos, really! i wish i can do that! my pay is sent directly to my debit card so it really hard for me to control the urge to spend (thus i sometimes leave it at home). and after paying all the bills i tend to forget to keep track the expenses! there was one time that i nearly called the bank coz i though that i was debited by the bank! but i later found out that i used the card a day before! now i keep all my receipts and all..

lol.. well at least you are not the only one who does this... i have a friend who would immediately purchase either cd/vcd/dvds (whatever is available), and he has some quite a collection i tell you.. i dont prioritize buying these though..
lucky girl.. i sometimes give my sis gifts and treat her to the movies, but that is if i still have money after paying the bills and depositing some of it.. thanks
