I have been hearing and seeing about more and more people being on welfare. I dont mind welfare and I think its great that people get help from the government, however, I do feel there should be a time limit on how long people can be on welfare unless they are disabled. I think too many people are milking the system because they dont want to work or having so many kids even if they do work they couldnt afford it. This needs to be stopped in my opinion.

My thoughts on this subject. You don't even want to get me started. I feel it is a good thing to recieve help from Welfare. But so many people take advantage of it. So many people can play the system, and the people that really need it, get turned away, because they don't know how to play the game. There are many people that just need a little help. Not forever, just to get back on their feet. Single parents need a little help as well. How else will they make ends meet and keep a place to live, and be able to pay all their bills? Then there are the families who are all just on Welfare. Kids grow up not knowing anything else, and follow in the footsteps of the family, and get into the system, instead of trying to get a job. What the heak " Free Money". What could be better than that? People that play the system go to the Welfare office dressed in good clothes, and new expensive sneakers. Real people that need help dress in what they have. Here in NY there is a cut- off limit. Once your youngest turns 5 years old they cut you off. But lol I haven't seen that happen. Also I hate to say it, But a lot of women just keep having kids, just so they can keep recieving free money. They would rather have the tax payers pay their rent & buy their food, while they busy themselves doing more important things...... Just my 2cents on the subject.

Oh goodness, I couldnt agree with you more. I feel the same way you do to the T. Here where I live I have heard you can only be on welfare for a year before they boot you and make you look for work, but like you, I havent seen that happen. It really does disgust me because like you said, there are women that keep on having children so they can be taken care of. I wonder if they put a limit on how many kids you can have on welfare if that would stop them. I mean, no we shouldnt be able to say how many children one can have but we should be able to say hey, if you think you are capable and a good enough mother to have 10 children, you need to work for them to give them a good life, etc.

Okay, my thought on welfare is this ; It should be used as a temporary situation. Not permanent. I don't think it is easy to get on. DEpending on what area you are living in. There are so many stimpualtions that are required for people in my area. The one thing that I have noticed is this : If you are white. You have a heck of a time trying to get on it or stay on it. I am being serious. I know of a few white woman who have applied no less than 12 times for welfare to be denied. Before they finally got approved to recive. It was only after these woman filed a discrimnation suit against the system and won.

I couldnt agree more. I think that it should only be temporary unless the person receiving the assistance as a permanent disability.

To be honest with you, I am a single mom, and I have only one child, work a full time job, am a student in the evenings, and STILL need my aid that I recieve. I have been trying the hardest I can to get myself OFF of the aid, but I just can't do it. So, in my opinion, some of us really do need it for an indefinate period of time!

You are right, and I agree with you about that but on one term. I think its okay to have it IF you are working and are seriously trying. You for instance, are in school, okay, so that right there tells me you are going to do something with your life. Plus, you are working, so you are trying, that type of person should get help. For someone who just sits on their couch all day or parties hard with no job etc. they should not be able to stay on welfare, that is abuse of the welfare systems and it takes away from the people who really do need it!

Yup, that must be stopped and a proper family planning is a must.
The best thing about welfare is to make our society more proper to live in, by increasing the living condition of of the under priveileged.

True. I just think this welfare is out of control. I know of a lot of people who are perfectly capable of working but dont want to, thats not fair to the people who need benefits.
