How to play safe with 'Trial offers' ? And are they actually safe?

There are some websites that gives you some decent returns just to complete some tral offers.
All you have to do is to sign up with your credit card, and then try the product within the trail persion, and if you cancel the trail oofer befire ecpiry time, then they dont charge anything, and you aslo get credited for compelting the trail offers.
The rates that I have see vary from 1 $ to as much as $100. So I obviuosly feel tempted!
So what I would like to know is for the expersts out here. A few queestion for you:
1. How many of you have tried trial offers (that invloves credit card)?
2. What is the exact procedure for it?
3. Is there any chance of getting tricked by it? I mean how safe is it?
4. What measure one should take while doing it - from the point of view from a person, who is primarily doing to get the credit of completing trail offer.

Generally when they ask for a credit card for a "free" trial I'm a bit leery... There are many companies who do this and then make it nearly impossible to cancel. Before I give my credit card info to anyone, I generally look up the site on McAfee's site advisor. http://www.siteadvisor.com/ I don't just trust what McAfee has to say either. I read through at least a few of the comments from other users. If I can't find it listed there, I will sometimes just do a search for the name of the site to see what others are saying about it, but anything I find this way is taken with a grain of salt.
Of course, there are plenty of good, real free trials and such out there, but I've found that the legitimate ones don't often ask for a credit card up front.

yes TT n even CC is great , but unfortunately they dont have much to offer for indians, or for any other non US members for that matter :(
let me know if u comppletes any free trials by credit card, n it went fine ... i mean, if we can cancel the trai before a few days f its expiry, n they dont go nasty in anyways ....
