Yahoo doesn't give money away for no reason so just assume this is totally fake. If they are asking for sensitive information about any account you may have, never give out your password to these accounts, bank account numbers, social security information, etc. If it was legitimate, all they would need is the e-mail address attached to the account.

Actually they are not paying for free the main reason is that they are saying that they are just paying and for that you have to be a premier member of the yahoo games!!

This notice had come to me 3 to 4 times. First time when it came, I thought it must be true. But I contacted yahoo. They said they want me to cut and paste the information fully to investigate. I did that and they informed me that it is a spam and they are contemplating taking action against them. Because the letter style, logo everything was looking as if yahoo sent it. It is a biggest scam going around here and just delete it.

It is a scam. Now a days there are lots of scam like these that comes to the email. Also, some ask to pay couple of dollars or rupees as courrier fees or other fews and most of guys pays it and get cheated. Usually, this money may be like 5 dollars etc. So people readily pays this thinking it is only small amount of money. These cheaters will be earning thousands and thousands of money from thousands of people all around the world.

I assume this is for Yahoo (US), since I've never heard of it before with my Yahoo Canada e-mail account.

I've gotten those before too. They are a scam! It'd be nice if it were true, but it's not. When I see those I just delete them.

I have seen at least a dozen discussions about this exact email since I joined myLot, not once has someone responded and said that they actually got money from yahoo because of this email, but plenty of people have gotten the email. I have gotten it myself but did not reply at all. I'm sure that once you pay the $9 to join their games site, they will come up with some other reason not to pay you. Several people have forwarded the email to the Yahoo! staff and been told that it is not a Yahoo sponsered prize.

I would try contacting Yahoo about this. It seems to be a big scam to me.
A lot of times these days, people will use the big names such as Yahoo! and Hotmail and other things to try and scam people into parting with money.
If they're asking you for money to claim your cash prize, never ever pay. It's all a huge scam.

I am receiving similar emails almost two times per week. Until now I have earned more than $1.000.000... but I haven't received a single penny.
So, I believe it is a huge scam (although I wish it wouldn't)

I think its a scam, I received a letter saying I had won a huge big lotto with the biggest lotto company etc, they made a big thing of writing the email in impeccable english, as well as supposed people I coulsd call iif i needed any assistance. I noted that they asked so nicely for my details, personal stuff, bank details and address, so I just tossed it, I felt it was just too good to be true. Then I received another one with different names and details in another email account. This also said I had won the lotto. I never play the lotto so its just a plan to get you under their control. Dont give any details away, that empowers these scammers to use your details, they could even withdraw your hard earned bucks..

It has to be a scam. I have never heard anything about this, and iff it were true then i think that a lot of people would know about it.

Have you ever participated in one of the online lotto using your Yahoo account? There are so many scammers lurking around in the internet and you just can't trust this people. You need to contact Yahoo administrators in order to confirm it. Just my one cent of advice.

It's definitely a scam. We have to keep in mind that we will only win in anything if we join-in. Thus, if you know the fact that you're not joining any game or lottery, it's impossible that you win.
