How to resist the temptation of delicious food?

how much I want to be slim,but so disppointed that it is difficult for me to resist the temptation of food.I always can't help to eat too much, but when i finish that I will feel so regreted and reproach myself a lot.Even like this,I can't control myself all the time. How can i overcome this bad habit?really need your help:)

Hello,cheryl99,honestly I do not have good ways to resist temptation of delicious food because I simply like to eat:P,I think it is fine if you are not eating too much,to abstain from your favourite food is hard. If you want to keep your body fit,doing more exercise and have a balance eating style will be better than not controlling your diet or not eating delicious food. Good luck.

Thanks for your good suggestions.you know to lose weight for me is always hard.when i have done more exercise,I will eat much more,so what i have consumed then gain back.I think a balance eating style may be helpful~~

You just have to... resist. Stop thinking about food. Think about something else you like that is not food and focus on that. Or even tie yourself up. Deliberately put your hands behind your back and keep them there. Don't reach for any food. You need determination for this to work out.

cheryl The worst thing you can do is to diet. What you need to do is to learn some new eating habits and life styles. You should not have to give up the foods you love. You just need to learn some new tricks to know when you have had enough. Since breakfast is the most important meal of the day and it should be the biggest why not have those favorit foods first thing in the morning. The energy that they provide will be used up during the day and by evening you will be less hungry. Sometime we get those hunger pains and what they really are is thrist. so before you eat try drinking some water and waiting a while before eating. If you are eating out ask for a doggie bag and take 1/2 of your meal home for the next day. It is easier to not eat it if you don't see it. Some place will let you order 1/2 serving sizes too. If you are cooking at home only cook a single serving size of the main entre and fill up on raw vegetables. Also try not to eat after 3:00 if you feel you have to have a nice bowl of fruit.

Dont blame yourself. Better sit calmly and analizethe real reasons for eating too much. What is "too much" in fact? Some people treat food as substitute of something else.Just think: what` s wrong in your life, are you eating because you are really hungry or this is your compensation of other lack.

maybe that's my problem!I always overeat not because I feel hungry,but because i can get a strange satisification from that.it seems important to find out what that is on earth.

yes, its very hard to resist delicious food, but you have to control your self, and must think that you make diet and look at yourself and say that i am fat, then its makes you control it. must have self disciple regarding with the food.i am dieting also and when we go to restaurant, before we enter i have to think that i will diet.than it make me not to order heavy food.

ceryl iam fine what you said was my problem long back..but i started running every day and nowim back to shape 1..it all depends on you and only you..go for a jog or a long walk for atleast 4 km and you will change...ok ..iam at capt_lms@yahoo.co.in

yes,you are right,only myself can help.I will try to control myself.jog for at least 4 km,is that too much?maybe i can do some exercise which interests me and keep me go on.thanks~~
