Ok, I am fed up too. I posted a discussion of hitting a milestone of reaching 1000, and it was deleted. I know many others here are really tired of it too. I sent an email to MyLot, and this is what I said, "ok, I need an explanation. I posted a discussion on hitting 1000, I was happy about it, and felt that I achieved a milestone. I don't understand why it was deleted. I am reading more and more people saying that they have had their discussions deleted with no explantion. Come one guys, we need to know why, can't you send an email to use informing why? either that or fine tooth the guidelines with more details/examples. What upsets me, is I see other similar discussions, and they aren't being deleted, but it seems someone is trigger happy with deleting discussions. If my discussion of achieving 1000 is against the violation please tell me, so I will know, but be across the board then, and delete stupid questions like how many times do you brush your teeth a day, or what is the first thing you do in the morning? It is unfair. Those I know for example are being against the guidelines but they are allowed to stay? Please be consistant. And again for those others, we need a reason as to why. Are you wanting members to leave?" We shall see what happens.

Hi,
Mylot created this discussion 6 months ago to tell us members some of the reasons why discussions get deleted (note #3): http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/457762.aspx
Most of the reasons stem off of the mylot guidelines as well. According to mylot, discussions that announce a milestone will be deleted because they do not make for a quality discussion, as they basically get the same repeated response from most every member "Congratulations". Mylot feels that those types of discussions are better saved for PMs and they do not want to pay you earnings to announce it as a discussion. I mean heck, we could all sit here and find something to announce, I guess is their reasoning behind that rule.
Hope this helps.

Well to me it should be across the board then. I did a discussion search and there were others there, but they weren't deleted.

I agree, but unfortunately, mylot cannot moderate the site alone. They ask us members to use that little "!" button to report violations to them and this way they can delete discussions that are against the policies here. So basically, we members are the moderators.

Whew! I felt sure this would be gone. I think we might have a rat in the works who is doing the dirty on us. I'm wondering why the monitors or whoever are doing this. Maybe they're not telling us what's going on because they don't know. Someone is doing this and it shouldn't be happening. It's all very strange I think.

I don't know. Maybe they felt this was a good discussion. I thought it was. It was confusing, so clarification is the key here right? **wink**

I hope so. There seems to be a lot of unfairness here. if you are going to do it to one, then do it to all. It makes you feel singled out.
