"edit post" button better thatn "preview button"

hi everyone,
i'm new in here, but let me speak to what i know for a huge website like mylot.com
it would be great if i can edit the post. i think it's better than provide "preview button"
it would be great also, if mylot can provide "delete button". so i can delete my post.

Well I dont see the need for an edit button because if you use the preview button you can use the edit button from there. As for the delete button I do think that everyone would like it but if you start deleting some of your posts, then others might get mad as if you delete a post and someone has responded to it, then the person who responded their count would go down and from some of the discussions I have seen nobody likes that.

yeah,
but i dont like preview button, since i can see everything in the first place.
actually, nothing to loose to put edit button side by side with preview and post button.
btw, most forum program have that feature that i can edit my post.

I will partially agree as someone already mentioned that if you delete a post just because you no longer want to take part in a discussion than it would be really unfair to the others who have responded and as far as edit goes yes there should be a option of edit so that if you have done any mistake in starting a discussion or even responding to one ,you might be able to correct it after words.
