This is quite an interestingly helpful discussion, dipxxx.
Personally, I try to increase my concentration in a particular subject by first considering the importance of that specific subject in my life.
After thoroughly considering its significance and situating it in the larger picture of my life, I start to concentrate on the subject I'm supposed to digest.
I do this by deeply thinking and directing all my energies as well as focus on the subject that I need to concentrate on.
I try my best to insulate myself from all the distractions in my surroundings. I normally do this by listening to a relaxing music, which soothes my ears and calmly stimulates my alert mind.
I also try to increase my concentration by trying to visualize the subject matter at hand, which somehow helps me in ensuring that my mind is not wandering somewhere else or focusing on other things, but on the subject matter that I have to master alone.
The place where I'm trying to digest a subject also helps a great deal.
At times, my concentration is quite substantially increased when I'm in a coffee shop or in a garden or in my quiet room, probably since these places seem to be very conducive for studying and increasing one's level of awareness and concentration.
These are just some of the things I try to do to increase my level of concentration. If you want, dipxxx, try it to hopefully help you in your laudable quest of increasing your concentration.
