So this year all cars are running on Bridgestone, which I think sucks big time not only for Michelin but for all non ferrari fans:P... Now, after I got all may anger out, I keep wondering what the hell is that white line on the tyres?

first of all... bridgestone was a choise made by the teams, taking into accpunt price and performance. or at least i hope so, otherwise... go go go you hitler of F1 that makes everyone run on bridgestone (that reminds me... i have a book to give you).

Ma cherie amie... I agree perfectly with you... I know it was all teams choice, or that's what I heard too, I supose that was a democratic vote(I might be wrong)... but I sad that was unfair for Michelin, and for non-ferrari fans, i didn't say nothing about teams choice;)... and my opinion is that if indeed there was a all team decision for Bridgestone it was a wrong decision:)... i have a picture with the white line:P... I don-t know how to put it on mylot (look here http://www.formula1.com/gallery/)...
Just one book?:(

if it was the team's choice, how is it unfair to michelin??? they should have known how to keep their supremacy... and to the non ferrari fans??? dudeee!! ferrari weren't the only ones using bridgestone :) and when you watch F1 tell me that your main concern is what company makes the tires :))

come on... ferrari was the only one in the firsttems that was using bridgestone... stupid bridgestone... stupid people... stupid exam... ok may be you are right... but if you are and if it wasn't a all tems choice... then they kicked out Michelin and for that they are of idiotic stupidity... I liked Michelin cos' they kiked bridgestone balls big time... hope thay will come back... Please come back...

found out :)
the pilots have to (acording to the new rules) use 2 different types of tyres during 1 race: soft and very soft. the white line is on the very soft ones :) so they could make a difference i guess.
cheers to my dad who inlightened me :D:D

For this year the governing body, the FIA, decided that all the teams must use a soft compound tyre and a hard compound tyre during the races. This was supposed to make it more exciting to watch since cars would perform better on one compound than another and so there might be a varying speed differential between the cars.
To make it easy for the officials and the fans to see which compound a car is on at any time, it was decided to paint one of the tyre grooves on the soft tyres white. Unfortunately, the desired effect has not happened since almost all the teams use the compounds in the same way (usually hards to begin with and softs in the last stint) and the cars tend to perform pretty much as they always did.
