hey! do you appreciate people appreciating you? What appreciation you liked most? was it from some family member, a friend or your partner? you enjoyed it because of the relationship or because the appreciation was really worth enjoying?
Some words are themselves beautiful but some others are beautiful because of our relationship with the person who said those words. What do you think?

The manager at my old job was great at appreciating people and helped me. I still remember some of the things he said to me about accepting praise and being able to be happy. He had to leave the job due to ill health (I think he took too many people's problems on himself) it was not the same without him. I think he would have been great at counselling.
I often feel that I am insignificant and overlooked, it was great the other day when one of the council gardener workmen took the time to give me a beaming smile as I passed by.
So, it seems that I feel than appreciation by those not close to me is worth more to me as it is more spontaneous.

No you are not insignificant, magicalmerlin. Every body is precious like the gems and same is with you. I believe that there is inherent beauty and greatness in every body, we just need to find and look at it. you must be having some great traits which you might yourself don't know. Try to find out those things and be thankful. If you can't do that just tell me, i'll look them for you;-)
I have found every person beautiful and great and honorable, even people who seem cheap and mean have something, something that is being overlooked or that they don't know themselves. seeing that makes us blissful and i find it every where around me. be cheerful and enjoy your life with the natural gifts you are provided with.:-)

well the Buddha made this statement:
"Word have the power to both destroy and heal, when words are both kind and true, they can chane our lives."
The words that were spoken to me were a token of acceptance by a group fo good men and they are the truest friends I have ever had.
