Does anyone like tomake thier own gifts instead of buying them? i find it a lot cheaper to make gifts that are useful than to buy them, I have found a few good ideas at Craft fairs, I have also gitten good ideas from friends, the year before last, my daughte and I made bath salts for all the females in our family, last year we made hot/cold packs for everyone. I need an idea for this year, I will probably start in mid July making things, that way we can get them done before Christmas. Please share any ideas you have on this with me, if you want how to make the bath salts or hot/cold packs let me know in your response.

Well, I like to make things for gifts if possible. I am making quillow for the kids this year. And I am making cross stitch pillows for the ladies. For the men, I am making extra large quillows. I am also making sachets for the older ladies in my family. Food gifts for some men (soups in a jar, cookies in a jar, things like that). I am also making up a few cookbooks with family faves for the cousins that have recently gotten married. I like to make gifts rather than buy them. I think it is just more special and meaningful. Making a gift for someone shows them that you took time to make them somethign special that is unique and just for them.
