Veronica Mars: end of season or series?

So what did everyone think of the "season" finale of Veronica Mars?
I thought it rocked! It was so good I was at the edge of my seat. I was so glad I tivoed it so I could skip through the commercials and get to the good parts, lol.
My favorite part, though, was Dick. I always had this soft spot in my heart for him. He is a complete jerk but when you hear what his childhood was like you kind of understand. I loved that he finally got to mourn his brother and you got to see how much it tore him apart.
I just got done watching the first half of season 1 (thank you Netflix) and realized the one end scene where Logan beats up that guy and then tries to make him apologize brings the show full circle to the first episode.
In the first episode Veronica gets Logan suspended and he gets ticked and takes a lug wrench to her car. Weevil shows up and beats the crud out of him and tries to make him apologize. In both scenes Veronica's response was "I don't want his apology."
I had never seen the first 7 or so episodes (although I had seen that part of epi 1 but it had been so long ago) and thought that was pretty neat.
Anyway--I also liked how they left all sorts of stuff hanging for season 4. Then, of course, I got online and read the show was pretty much cancelled. And that SUCKS! because they didn't finish it. The show just stopped with all sorts of loose ends.
Can't wait to rewatch the rest of season 1 (have to wait for them to come this week) and then it is on to season 2 again. I will re-watch them with a better understanding now that I know what happened in season 1.

I didn't watchit so maybe you can answer a question for me. Did Veronica and Logan get back together? (I know, most are veronica/logan fans, but I'm not. I'm hoping they didn't get back together.)

No they did not. But Logan broke up with Parker and Veronica broke up with Piz because it was obvious to everyone that Logan still loves Veronica, although Veronica was pretty ticked with Logan at the end and told him to leave her alone forever and that they were through. But I don't think she meant it she was just really mad.
It was a great episode (2 episodes).

I thought they had left open to maybe rework it and bring it back different next year.
I didn't think Veronica broke up with Piz. I musta blinked.
There are so many unanswered questions. Who wins the election for sheriff?
How will Veronica do at the FBI academy?
We saw Jake Kane but where is his son?

I did rewatch it last night and Veronica and Piz never actually broke up but they were on shaky grounds. He didn't want Veronica to go to for the FBI thing and he wanted her to be upset about him going to New York, but she wasn't.
I don't think I'll watch it if she leaves Neptune. It isn't just Veronica I watch. I love the whole cast and was very disappointed that they killed of Lamb because he was the perfect antagonist for her. Weevil is one of my favorites but they dropped him for most of the season and I think they could develop his character more. They totally left open for another season by showing him stealing that card programmer thing.
There are still so many things they could do with the show if they would just put some effort into it and not put it up against stuff like American Idol (who can compete with that?)
I think they should start season 4 (if they were going to do one) where it is at the end of summer so you could see her at the FBI and then come up with some big mystery that happens back home so when she returns to school she is in the middle of something.
And I'd like to know how Duncan and the baby are doing, too. They never mention him after he runs off.

I thought it sucked. Especially since it was the SERIES FINALe, but they didn't know until the last minute that they were not picked up.

I love this show! Yup, Veronica and Piz didn't break up though things aren't really going well for them. But I think they'll reach the end of their relationship soon. Veronica gave that away from the look she had when Logan still went ahead and beat up this guy from the cafeteria (even after she said not to). I actually like Piz and Veronica together. But I'm still a Veronica and Logan fan!hehe
I can't wait to see what happens next!

It was so obvious that the series was not intended to end this way. Blame The CW for the abrupt ending. It was a wondering series while it lasted with a ever so sexy star let, witty humor, and relatable characeters. There is news that Kristen Bell might do something in the future with part of the cast and the writer. We can only hope!!!
